Eric, you probably mean 265/70/17 otherwise you're running some pretty skinny tires there:D.

Whenever you get the chance, you can take care of the rubbing in your driveway for the most part. Just have someone turn the wheels while you're looking at the front and you'll see exactly where it likes to rub. It's typically right behind the front bumper/in front of the tire. Some quick trimming will take care of it.

    Whoops fixed that typo.

Thanks Vin, I'll give that a shot. Box knife work or bust out the drimel?

Thanks again Vin for your generosity in the other thread. I may have made a comment in one place about the contest, but it was a spur of the moment/stuck with my parents and I was already irritated kind of thing. I still want your wheels and plan on buying at SOME point since I have no way of winning them. It'll just take me some time!

I appreciate your love for this community and the chance to win your wheels.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Box knife will work fine for trimming the wheel well liner. Now that you have rubbed a little you should be able to see the scuff marks from the tire. Take a little extra off to be safe

Evan is right on top of this. A box knife will do the job, but you might have better control with a dremel for a nice straight cut.

Brady, I'm not upset at anyone in particular, but the little bickering overshadowed the message that we were trying to convey across to everyone. IF there is a next time, we will have to do things differently.

This. I had to do a little bit of trimming on the actual fender flare as well. I just used a hacksaw and it came out alright.
If you can't clearly see where it is rubbing, get some chalk or something similar and cover the inside of the wheel well liner(at the front next to the bumper), then drive in and out of your driveway, and around the block or something, and then you will clearly see where you are rubbing, and exactly where you need to cut. I still need to do this because I am still rubbing and I have no idea where :frusty: I think you got it but if you want any pictures just let me know and I can go and take some for you :)

I also noticed that Discount put a nice scratch next to one of the lugs when they were putting them on the truck

My wife is awesome. Great Christmas present this year. She's going to have a difficult time beating this one. These bad boys were delivered to my door today. Thanks Vin.

I read that you suggested the tire size to give the least amount of problems with these wheels would be 285/70R17. Do you know some of the tires that have the least amount of issues being balanced on the wheels? I was looking at the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 or the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R.

Why would a certain tire size make a difference? Don't most guys run a 265/70 on these?

John, I'm glad you finally got them. You're lucky to have such a great wife! Be sure to post some pictures when you can. Snap the center caps on the wheels before you mount them on.

At stock height, for the least amount of rubbing, you will want to stick with 265/65/17 or upsize to 265/70/17 if you don't mind a little trimming.

For a 1-2" lift, they'll look great with 265/70/17 with some minor trimming.

For a 2.5-3" lift, 265/70/17 will still look good with minimal rubbing, but would look best with 285/70/17. With 285s, a cab mount chop is suggested along with some liner trimming and possible fender flare trimming. This varies a lot depending on the tire choice.

My personal experience between the two, KM2s and MTRs, is that my KM2s took less weight to balance. However, these were 2 different size tires. As long as you're working with a reputable tire shop that has guys that know what they're doing, they should be able to balance any tire properly. But it's not unheard of that it takes 2-3 tries to get them right with MT, but this is usually due to the operator.

Thanks Vin. Will do. I will probably wait till late March to mount them.
    Harsh winters and all.

Thanks. Don't want to sound like a broken record but to quote many people in this thread "they look even better in person".
