Does anybody have information on the durability of SCS wheels, particularly the SR8?

I am considering the purchase of the SR8 to replace stock wheels on a new 2017 Tacoma Sport.

    Thanks for any input,

You will love them Very highly respected wheels on this forum. Plus Vin (proprietor of scs wheels) is a great guy to deal with.

I have a set of the very first batch of SR-8 Shipped out by Vin. Never had any problems with them since day 1. Mostly city use, but I have taken them to Slickrock and other trails they held up every time.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
My SCS have held up well and I have plenty of scars on them from rocks and logs now.

Kinda hard to see in this pic but my rear wheel has a rock in between the wheel and the tire (that's what running at 8psi can do). Didn't bend the bead surface or anything (did leave it very marred though) so that says something about the strength. Mine are no longer show quality because I have destroyed the powdercoating around the bead and outer barrel.

But unlike my truck they looked amazing when they were brand new...

But they still look okay from afar even after the beating I've given them, maybe one day I'll learn to be gentle. The price is such that I can afford to destroy one now an again if need be to make it through the trail.

I would guess that you off-road a lot and any wheel would look like this after time in the mud and rocks?...

My Ray10s have been great! They have rock rash on them but that happens from off roading. Would not buy another wheel!

I've had my Stealth 6's for like 5 years and 2 trucks. Beat them in the swamps and deep sand, no real problems, clear coat looks a little rough in places. Would definitely recommend.

I really appreciate all the input, it really has helped to cement my decision with regard to SCS. Now hoping the truck doesn't cost too much off the lot so I can afford the wheels right away...

Sweet, shopping for wheels and the truck isn't even on site, love it.

If you're not sure you can afford it, then you can't...
