Toyota, to their credit, manufactures very high tolerance wheels. That makes the job of balancing lower-tolerance tires that much easier.

Correct, SCS wheels are manufactured in Thailand. I was both surprised and disappointed when I found out.

Same issue after a Toyota balance, same mph and everything. Going to try 5 oz of beads in each to see if that will clear it up, past that I'm going to pursue an exchange.

Did Toyota say they balanced out on the machine? They said mine were zeroed yet it still shook.

Yep, said the same thing. Not real sure how that’s possible but I don’t pretend to know everything. Said the rims were dead on too.

Sorry to say but I had the same Symptom on mine at the same speed and it ended up being the rims. I went to the SEMA Pros with the same tires and back to smooth as butter with just install balance from MAVIS.

Vin said the only way they were going to swap rims was if I had them put it on the machine and I got a video of it being out of whack. So without them being out of whack I’m not sure what to do if it were rims.

I can tell you this though, I’m getting sick of throwing money and more importantly time at this. Sat at Toyota for three hours today and now I already know breaking the tire beads to put balance beads in is going to take a bit of time tomorrow. I’m just done

I have no experience with SCS Wheels, so I cannot speak to their tolerances and whether they are actually hub centric or lug centric. but I do have some experience with this same issue you are experiencing. just not on my truck.

several years back we bought a cheapo set of wheels and tires for a car we owned to make it look better. and it did "look" better. but once we drove it down the road and hit 55mph, we knew we made a mistake. the wheels did not come with hub rings to make them hub centric to that specific car, so I just bolted them on and drove. made a huge fuss with the seller so they agreed to rebalance the wheels/tires plus give us the correct hub rings for free. the vibration got better, but it was still there. what we later found out was that by bolting them up and not having the hub rings, we actually warped the rotors and drums. I was pissed! never did get it fixed, just traded the car and moved on.

I am afraid you might be experiencing somewhat of the same thing. maybe you haven't hurt anything just yet, but if the wheels are not 100% hub centric, I would not use them. if your can put your wheel on over the hub and it moves up/down or side/side, it is not hub centric. this is the very reason I chose the TRD Pro 4R wheels and not aftermarket wheels. I never use any wheels that are not hub centric to that vehicle. I hope you can get some sort of resolution and figure it out.

Well thankfully when I put my old wheels/tires back on, everything is perfectly smooth, so I think that eliminates warped rotors and/or drums.

So many people on here have these rims and I haven’t read a lot of complaints, but I can’t say I hunted for them either. I have read a few about these tires though while reading through the falken thread.

I think I’m going to put all four stock wheels/tires on and make sure I’m smooth. Then add beads to each tire and put them on one at a time with a test drive in between. It’s my last ditch free effort, after that I’ll need to go through the exchange and pay someone to mount and balance again.

Think I may go nitto ridge if I exchange.

yea if you're not experiencing it with the stockers you are ok. now just need to determine if it's the tires or wheels. I actually looked at SCS's site and they claim to be hub centric, so my guess isn't the wheels. probably the tires. I ran Falken tires years ago and had a similar issue, so I haven't tried any since. I currently have Nitto Terra Grappler G2's in 265/70/17 on my TRD wheels and they are smooth as silk. but I also don't run LT tires, I have the plain old P rated tires. good luck! keep us posted on how it all turns out.

I’m curious why you’re about to attempt to fix the problem with beads when the issue is either with the tires or wheels. Beads will not solve that.

Yah I don’t know honestly. I’m curious why if the the tires balance fine, why is there an issue at all. Just trying all my options before I have to exchange I guess.

Maybe I should just start the exchange now and spend the day with my family tomorrow like I’d prefer, instead of spending a lot of it moving tires around.

    Maybe 1.05 will fix it

I'm curious, did you try rotating the out of round tire to the rear?

I recently mounted F5's on K02's and my truck rolls smoother than stock. Are you using the ET lugs and making sure they are properly torqued?

The vast majority, if not all of the aftermarket wheels that cost under $1000 per set are manufactured somewhere in Asia.

I’ve swapped them all aroind and couldn’t find 1 worse than any other. Was going to methodically do it today but the rain got me. I’ll find out what’s what over the next week or so.

Yes, The ET lugs and all torqued to 83 every time. When I bought the rims, vin said that’s all he sells any more to alleviate confusion.

My advice is to ditch the Falkens and go with BFGs. Falkens are cheaper for a multitude of reasons and quality control is near the top.

A fulcrum? Would you mind explaining that?

Ditched the falkens before I put beads in them, was just done. Discount tire was awesome and exchanged without issue. I have 285 70 17 nitto ridge grapplers on the way, more than I wanted to spend but hopefully worth it.

I’ll have them unmount the falkens, spin the wheels themselves per Vins suggestion to eliminate the wheels, then put on the tires. Crossing my fingers

Thanks for all the replies guys.
