k thats what i figured. i know ive seen some factory jeeps with some stupid angles...but do you really anticipate it settling enough to push it back 45 degrees? I guess i dont know how the springs act. If anything you could set it and just modify/get new shackles when they settle. I would almost move it forward a half an inch so it at least sits close then hope it settles an inch

With the shackle hanger where it's at, I'll never have a 45* angle at ride height.
I moved it forward 3/4" and got the shackle to sit at 85*.
I believe after some settling I'll have around 60*. Won't be perfect but won't be horrible.

85 is still pretty high lol. But you're right it will be hard to tell before the springs settle.
With a longer shackle you can make the angle Steeper, so you could always set it about where you want it and if it's not right get a longer shackle

The front is "done." I still need to put the inner shafts/ birfs in, weld the steering stops on, and a couple other small things. I drove it out of the shop and got it up to about 50. I've gotta get the toe set a little better but everything is working pretty well.
I was hoping to get the center of the axle about 3" forward of stock. I measured everything and the axle ended up 7" forward. I've got a 111.5" wheelbase with an 80* approach angle. :O

Working on the rear suspension right now. The truck should be 95% by tomorrow evening.

Yup! Those slider boxes are awesome. Wish I knew about them for my old truck. You can play with truck heights by removing leafs to a certain extent or running the shortest shackle possible. My last Tacoma had the shackle under the frame and I got it to 24" to the frame on 37's by messing around with leaf combinations/shackle lengths.

It'll be fine. 25" frame height on brand new springs will settle to 23.5-24" at a minimum on true 35's ..and still wheel awesome with decent uptravel.

Yeah links and exotic tricks with leafs are sexy to say you've got a low truck but that's not what he was after. It's a daily driver that will be out in the elements, bushings are a lot cheaper to replace than JJ's. Simple, reliable and semi-inexpensive was the name of the game and it was pulled off quite nicely I would say.

I got to take the truck home from the shop tonight.
It's slightly bouncy without shocks. Needs a steering stabilizer. Wanders a bit at speeds of 50 and over. Otherwise, everything is great. I need to triple check my toe which I thought I set at 3/16's in. I'll get some pictures tomorrow morning. I did the math and I was at the shop for a grand total of about 50 hours!

I'm on axles that are almost full width. I'm on BRAND NEW springs. I expect at least an inch of sag. It's really not that tall. Low frame height isn't everything, btw. Besides, you have to realize my fenders have been cut 2" up so it LOOKS higher than is.

    Thanks, finally someone gets it.

    That's a helluva weekend there.

You considering throwing on a panhard with some sort of quick disconnect on one end so that you will have better highway manners when hooked up and then unhook it to wheel?

I'll give it to you that I've never dealt with new springs and didn't realize how much fender trimming you've done. You're still doing more than me and I'm just a spectator who's opinion may or may not be worth the time it takes to read. Keep up the build. I'm sure it'll never be finished anyway.
