I'd be more interested in a sealed alternator.

They are a DC powdered unit. Compared to the OEM output and an OEM replacement, it out performs and at a decent price point. We use the DC units more so on applications that don’t have room for a dual battery set up, a customer that doesn’t want to run a dual set up, or a pretty specific application that has some high power needs.

Are you saying we carry expensive products or that we are more expensive than the same product available elsewhere?

We carry products that we can stand behind as a company and feel good about recommending, selling and installing. You won’t find strut spacers and the such not knock off overseas products.

If you are saying we are more expensive on the same product, please take a look again and let us know where we are off. We stock more than any other shop, we keep our prices competitive, and offer knowledge salespeople to answer questions about the products.

We are proactive in improving our processes. Where can improve to help with your “everything is expensive at SDHQ” comments?

It’s a brand new Toyota OEM panel that we supply along with these features-

    • CNC Laser cut and etched factory Toyota panel
    • Designed for a tight fit with Switch Pros Bezel Mount Panels
    • Included Reinforcement Backing Plate System
      • Increases panel clip holding pressure
      • Clamps switch panel into dash panel making it sturdy and theft resistant.
      • Eliminates the chance of hardware vibrating loose

We also offer the same service for $40 if you bring in or send in you OEM panel.

Can you help us understand how this is not a good value?

When it was originally listed for $65 at product listing, and has since been listed for $110 for the same product, color me confused.

It’s a nice, clean panel for sure.

That was $65 for a core exchanged unit. When we first launched the product we offered it as a core exchange rather than a new replacement unit. Replacement units were not readily available through Toyota at that time, and that was our only option for a bit. Luckily the parts became available through Toyota shortly after because we had nothing but headaches with the cores coming back slow, damaged, dirty, etc.

With the volume were able to do with the new parts, we also were able to lower the price down from the original $65 to a $40 charge for our work.

I'm glad you helped me get to the bottom of your "giggling" at our prices comment, and hopefully, now you understand the product, process, and the value.

    Thanks!

Call these guys. Alternator rebuilds and the like are all they do. They have been rebuilding alternators for 50+ years. Seldom have I seen one that takes more than $30 in parts to rebuild completely. They have built a few on steroids for me back in my truck as a life support system for a stereo days. Few in two hours or less. No alternators from the parts house for me. This place, every time, since the seventies: Parts Exchange (409)833-5831.

Wait for Mean Green to make one. They are respected for High Output Alts. I'm sure they will make one soon and for about $400
