This isnt a question on how this stuff works. All though i dont mind opinions or advice. So recently i got a hair up my arse to flush my power steering system. I sucked out the resevoir with a turkey baster, disconnected the low pressure line, jacked the truck up SAFELY, and with the truck off cycled the steering lock to lock slowly. But honestly i wasnt happy with the results knowing i didn't get it all out. Well after reading the thread on seafoam i saw that they make a ps/tranny cleaner. I SWEAR by seafoam and intend to use this product tomorrow provided it stops raining. Now to the question. In a seafoam made YouTube video dude flushes the system by disabling the ignition and just cranking the motor. I intend to do the same but dont exactly know how to disable my ignition. Any help is appreciated. Pictures would be awesome too. 04 dc prerunner v6 auto 165k. Owned since it had 2716 on the odo! (had to throw that last bit in)!

Pull your sender unit relay. I'm not sure where it is, other than under the hood in the fuse box.

When you say "ignition" I think spark, and disabling the spark and still having fuel delivery can cause cylinder washdown and that'll cause other issues. If you just want to crank the motor, pull the sender unit relay and if its easy, I'd take the spark plugs out so it doesn't build compression and it'll be easier for the starter to roll the motor over. If it'll take you more than 15-20 minutes to take the plugs out I wouldn't bother, the truck won't start with the relay out so you're free to crank, just don't kill your battery!

When I installed my replacement 3.4L, I just pulled the 20A EFI fuse out from the underhood fuse block. I cranked it for a few 15 second intervals to get some oil through the motor before firing it up. Seemed to work fine and it fired up with little effort after I put the EFI fuse back in.

When I pulled the motor I actually flushed mine by removing the belt, sucking out most of the fluid and then refilling. I then detached the lower pressure hose and ran the pump by hand to push fluid through the system, refilling as necessary. Seemed to work fine and didn't take very long.
