at 3,300 miles since my last change, but just got laid off so whenever i get one my first checks going to a trusty can of seafoam

ive always just dumped it in my tank and never thought adding to a vacuum line or even the crankcase. ive read the bottle but didnt think of the relevance it might truly have. dumb statement i know but gimme a break lol and on top of that i wouldnt have never known what line or how much... good part about loosing my job is the ammount of reading on this site ive done

I did mine last night: 1/2 in the gas tank, about 1/3 in the vacuum line, the last almost 1/6 in the crank (will be changing the oil this weekend after a short trip). Saw almost zero smoke, I guess she was clean!

    HMMMMMM!!!
Thanks, man: I might actually do this now
I never did cause, like you mentioned, I read the way it's typically done doesn't distribute it to all the cylinders on our yotas

I just turned 223k; so, it could probably use it

Seems like everybody seafoamed the intake and the gas tank at the same time. Is this a better way to do it or does it matter if I do them at separate times? I was going to do the oil today and the engine/gas tank later this week. This will be my first time seafoaming my '02 with 210k miles.

They sell a aerosol can now. That's what I used. I sprayed half the can in the intake, let it sit the 15 min it said to, and then ran the truck hard. Came back and used the rest of the can and let I sit a few hours, them again ran the truck hard. You would not believe the crap that came out of the tailpipe

Used seafoam in my 2002 2wd automatic Prerunner and really liked the results. Put half a can in the oil and slowly poured the other half in the brake booster vacume line. I let the truck sit about 10 minutes drove it about 40 miles and changed the oil. Oil was pretty thin and very nasty. Truck didn't smoke as bad as others I've seen. My taco is around 191000 miles. This was my first time using it anywhere but the gas tank and I definitely felt the truck is quicker on acceleration and idles smoother. My 2 cents.

If I was going to use Seafoam just in the gas tank, how much should I use?

I ran 2 bottles at once in mine while low. Wanted to get a real good concentration of it. Didn't hurt anything, no CEL

Did a seafoam treatment through the vac line Gear Head directed to use. It smoked really good for almost 10 min. I also cleaned the intake, throttle body, and maf. At 227k it runs like new again. Feels more responsive with throttle and idles smoother. I plan on doing a fuel treatment when i get closer to empty and will do a oil treatment in a couple thousand before oil change.

If you have a squalling power steering pump, put a couple of thimble full amounts in and sit back and listen.

I had a Napa store back in the early 90's when one day the owner of Seafoam showed up and wanted to go demo this stuff to customers. I had never heard of it before then. We did about 30 demos over the next few days, but 2 stood out.

Bart May had a 4wd 81 Silverado with a 305 automatic, dog of dogs. Power steering whine, hard shifts and would not run unless you kept your foot on the pedal feathering it. Seafoam cured them all in one treatment.

20 minutes later, he ordered 10 cases of the stuff.

School district had a diesel bus that would run for a few hundred miles and then slowly choke down and have to be towed back to the bus barn. Pulled the fuel filter off and filled it with Seafoam. We took it on a 30 minute drive, it would barely run as we pulled out of the barn. When we came back it was idling like it should and Brian said it didn't run this good or smooth when it was new. The school bought this stuff in 55gal drums after that.

With anything, you can improperly use the product, but when used correctly, there is no harm to be done.

If it wasn't for a love of fishing, Seafoam wouldn't exist.

When using seafoam in the crankcase, how many oil changes does it take after the initial drain to flush the system? Do you recommend running a cheaper oil for 500 miles to finish removing all the gunk before switching back to the oil of your choice?
