seafoamed the motor for the first time ever tonight. The idle sounds better i know but im not sure about acceleration just yet. Put 1/3 of the can into the vacuum line as per instructions then just saved the rest for some other time. Didnt bother putting it in my tank since i run supreme gas all the time anyway.

If you run it through the fuel system it will clean out the injectors... that's where you may see a difference in throttle response or acceleration.

I've always used Sea Foam in my outboard motors and motorcycles. Good stuff. My Taco is too new for a Sea Foam treatment, but it worked wonders on my Subaru.

go to a Dodge/Jeep dealership and get a can of Mopar Combustion Camber Cleaner. Spray carfully directly into a warn engines TB with throttle closed. It will sound like it's about to die, hold off until engine recovers then spray more until can is emoty. When can is depleted let sit for 5 minutes....start it but don't rev it, smoke up your street and get same if not better results. No vacum line hassle. Gets all cylinders and works great. I use Seafoam myself sometimes but only straight into the gas. for more direct results the Mopar CCC is the shizzle. Been using it for years.

They also make aerosol Sea Foam... called Deep Creep.
I just did mine through the vac line and it worked about as expected. Smoked for probably 5 minutes with the first little bit was really bad. Mine also did the diesel "run away" thing after I shut it off. It kept sputtering and shaking around for maybe 10 seconds but it eventually stopped. Then I drove around the school parking lot for awhile like a madman (with all the guys from auto class cheering me on) And changed the oil immediately after. She's runnin great now.

yes you can use it doesn't matter how old the engine is it will still benefit it by cleaning out the carbon build up. do as it instructs you too though 1/3 in the oil 1/3 in the gas tank and 1/3 in the vacuum line. you'll notice a difference.

I still don't believe in it. If it was useful at all for the engine, Toyota would make money from it by adding it in as scheduled maintenance.

Snake oil, and I'd bet money most of the smoke that comes puffing out during a seafoam "treatment" is just like the smoke that comes puffing out when your engine is consuming oil...the combustion chamber burning something other than fuel...

i'll continue to use seafoam, as i see the benefits from it, especially how it will clean an intake/combustion chamber out.

My truck didnt really shoot out much white smoke. i have 126xxx miles and was sure i was gunna see a cloud behind me but it wasn't that bad, especially compared to my nissan maxima when i did it to that one it was a shit load of smoke!

I might have done the process wrong though.
I poured about 1/3 into the vacuum hose, then turned the truck off. put 1/3 into the oil crankcase, and the rest into the gas tank. Then waited about 2 minutes and turned the truck back on. I think i shouldve waited a little longer before i turned it back on. FYI this is the instructions straight from seafoam.com

I used Seafoam for the first time today and let me just warn anyone who hasn't used it yet... Get ready to be F-ing embarassed for about 15-20 min!! Shit, I didn't realize how much stuff was going to come out of my exhaust pipe. I did about a 60-40 split (40 in the vacuum line, 60 in the gas tank). I did it right before a 50 mile trip to my mom's house and I was completely embarassed going through my neighborhood billowing smoke everywhere, LOL. I had let it run in my driveway for about 5 minutes until the initial smoke stopped (after waiting 15 min for the stuff to set in) and thought it was done doing what it needed to do... Not so much. Once you get on the gas it REALLY starts coming out!! Well, once it was done smoking I do believe my truck was running smoother and it accelerated a lot better than before. I have 141,000 miles so I guess it was long overdue :)

I've noticed a 1-2 mpg increase as well... went from 17-18 to 19-20 (100% stop and go in the city, much of which is pulling a trailer). I'm pretty satisfied.

    LOL!

My buddy loaded up his volks bug with a tank of diesel by accident,,it looked like he was towing a fog bank when he pulled out of the station. it sputtered to a instant death a mile down the road.

I have a can of Seafoam down in the shop,,been there for quite some time. I might try a fresh can in the tank, just to see.
