    Hello all,

Longtime lurker, taco noob, I've pretty much read all the threads on the costs and benefits of seafoaming your truck with questionable efficacy. However, I've opted into doing so for my 2011 taco nearing 100k. I looked up a lot of tutorials and it seems like my engine bay doesn't have the same layout of hoses to what I've seen on the 07s, 05s. Which you would think would be the same lol. Anyway I've attached some photos. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct brake line for me to apply the seafoam? I am well aware of how it should be applied (slowly, car on, let it sit, and redline ftw after 10 minutes). I just wanna make sure I don't end up putting this stuff in the wrong place! Thanks again!!

First of all that’s not a brake line and you don’t have a vacuum actuated brake booster. And the fact you’re asking these questions indicates that you really should leave it alone. You probably did not actually do or understand all the research.

Is there a problem with your motor? If not, why do you want to do this?
If there is a problem, then identify and fix it properly

No, it’s designed for carbureted engines, your injection nozzles will hate it.

If you’re somehow fixated on doing this best way on your particular model truck is to take off the airbox and spray it past the butterfly valve as some else holds steady RPM at ~ 2,000. FYI, distilled water will have the same carbon blasting effect, is cheaper and less risky.

Be prepared to buy new CATS the next time you have to smog your truck.

No need to return it. Just pour it in your gas tank.

Dang. Are these good replies or what?! I never new those things about seafoam. Considered using it on my ford once but let the idea go. Glad I did.

While on the subject of Sea Foam, what is the consensus on Sea Foam Spray? I've read where this treatment will help burn off carbon build up that's attributed to direct injection (DI) engines.

I’ve used it on dirtbikes, cruisers, my Tacoma. Trucks at 100,000 and no CEL or smog issues. I don’t “swear by” sea foam but it doesn’t clog cats. If you want to do it OP go for it!

Seafoam has been known to make carrots taste like celery.

I've used Seafoam for years, never had a problem. While it works really well on carbureted engines, works great on FI engines too. I haven't looked closely at the 4.0 throttle body but if it has a vacumn hose you can feed it through there.

^ What monkeybutt said. I usually do half a can in the tank and half via vacuum hose, while revving. Be prepared for a massive cloud of exhaust, feel like its probably pretty bad for the environment lol

I have used Seafoam for years also. I have used it in the oil....I have used it in my fuel tank....and I have used it as you are describing through the brake booster vacuum line. This truck does not have a vacuum actuated brake booster so don't go pulling anything off of your booster. From the picture where you circled the line in blue....don't pull that loose! You'll drain all of the brake fluid out of the reservoir. I have never used Seafoam in my Tacoma but it's still pretty new.

OH, OP... if you think thats the right "vacuum booster" brake line... you should just not even consider doing seafoam.

And really, dont even bother with seafoam, do a proper injector cleaner and call it good.

I use seafoam with my gas occasionally. Usually every other oil change. I use it more for small engines (chainsaws, snowblower, mower etc. )

@_TRDYeti get the seafoam intake cleaner with the straw. Makes it easy to get the cleaner into your engine.
