I recently bought a 2019 tacoma. Shortly after having it I decided to pull off some badges and plasti dipping others. This went smooth and I used Goo Gone to remove excess plasti dip and badge residue. Also, my well intentioned girlfriend used windex with a paper towel...

Slightly concerned the Goo Gone and Windex has stripped some of the protection the truck came with when I bought it new two weeks ago I want to clean and seal the truck. Should the sealant go on easy enough even though Im sure there is still factory wax on most of the body? Should I polish the truck prior to the sealant?

I have a liquid wax on hand if you feel I need to protect the truck ASAP, otherwise I have Opti Seal coming in the mail in two days. Please let me know what you would do. I love this truck and want to keep it protected looking good for many years to come!

    Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of a vehicle coming with factory wax. Depending upon swirls etc that really determines when you need to machine polish the vehicle. At the minimum clay bar the truck and then seal. Yes, clay bar a new truck as they get contaminants on them from transporting and setting on the dealers lot.
