The M110 and M210 are supposed to be for vehicles with soft clear coat. Able to finish haze free with less steps.

I bought M101 to be use with the PC 7424. Since my PC is under powered I figure a heavy cutting compound would help compensate for the under powered DA.

What's a good pad to use with the PC and M101 for removing heavier defect?

I also had to correct UV damage clear coat.

So I'm coming to the dance a bit late here, but I use Carpro Hydro II paint sealant (clar bar & polish before hand as needed). It lasts about 6 months, but the application is super easy. Spray/mist it over wet surfaces (paint, plastic, glass, wheels, etc.), and immediately spray it off with water (preferably a pressure washer). Ezee Pezee. After a few days of cure time, I top it with P&S Bead Maker. The shine and hydrophobic propeties are crazy.

I have found that Bead maker gives a real super shine and is slick but does not last long and is a magnet for dust and water spots. Just my opinion

I haven't had any issues with dust, but have heard other people reporting the same. I've found it lasts roughly 6 weeks. It's more of a topper/detailing spray than anything IMO. I would'nt use it as a stand alone product for protection. How long it lasts isn't an issue for me. After the first application, I use it as a drying aid, so it gets refreshed every time I wash my vehicles. AND THE SMELL IS FANTASTIC !!!!

I have unwittingly discovered the perfect combination of products for my truck, I have a 2019 silver sport. I started watching detailing videos out on YouTube and realized the same trick that was already mentioned, the key to a really good shine is correcting the paint before applying your protection and shine product. I also learned that having a white or silver vehicle means you have to go the extra step to get it to really pop.

I know there some professional detailers hear on TW and I don't want to offend, but I didn't want to pay to have my truck detailed, I actually totally enjoy doing this myself. I also didn't want to buy a polisher to correct paint because I would only need to do this every once in a while.

So the three products I lucked into are:

Meguiars Ultimate Compound - this is my paint correction method. I use a small padded circular microfiber cloth to work the product onto the truck. This stuff will clean the clear coat and take care of spiderwebs and minor scratches. After it dries I wipe it off with two fresh microfiber towels. At this point, the truck looks awesome but it needs some protection.

Turtlewax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating - I spray this on a small area at a time, also using a microfiber pad. It's really easy to use, smells good, and when you wipe it off with a microfiber towel, it takes the truck to a new level of gloss and puts a protective covering on the truck that is supposed to last for a year. And again, being that my truck is silver....I had to go the extra step so I let that application cure overnight and weather permitting I apply a second coat the next day. At this point, I have a paint corrected truck with two properly cured coats of ceramic wax on my paint/clear coat. Now all I have to do is maintain it.

Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic 3-In-1 Detailer - Once the paint has been corrected and I have my durable coating on I have to try and maintain it since everything is trying to remove the work I did. Driving in rain, bugs, sun, and even pollen is wreaking havoc on it so I try to wash the truck once a weak and then I use this 3-in1 detailer afterward. This is a spray-on and wipe off the product but the cool thing is it has the same ceramic coating in it. Now I'm not sure what causes this but after I apply this detailer...the silver on my truck pops.

I have never seen anything like this, it looks shiny and wet. I actually find myself staring at it as I'm driving down the road. On a sunny day, it almost looks like its dripping wet. Anyway, I've been so happy with this method that I thought I'd share it. It is a little labor intensive but most of us here are a little OCD about our trucks so it's actually a pleasurable experience.

I totally understand there are probably better methods out there or some of the pro detailers around here know a ton of secret tricks but I somehow stumbled on this and it's really working for me.

I'm not a pro detailer but yes you found the secret and it's this:

If you like the results, keep using it. There is always going to be plenty of recommendations on "better" products.

I'm a novice but from my limited experience and reading, this is my sense of it. There is a proliferation of products on the market in this arena which creates a jungle in which to navigate through. My sense of this is for the user to find the set of products that provides the results we desire. Using this set of products as a baseline, we can slowly experiment with different products as our experience grows and needs change......

Newer isn't always better when it comes to detailing products. There are plenty of solid products out there developed decades ago. The marketing & flashy logo's get people to jump on the bandwagon of the latest craze.
