I use the Maguire's Ultimate also. I put it on about 2 months after buying the truck and now 10 months later, water still beads up. Plus you don't have to be in the shade to apply it.

Adams Liquid Sealant. Hands down the best I've used, and I've tried many.

Forgot to add that I spray it on everything and don't have to worry about any buildup of any sort; paint, glass, rubber, plastic, etc. Did I mention it smells like bubblegum?

I use 845 and like it. I got bit by the detailing bug 20 years ago and have used many brands of waxes and sealants. 845 applies easily, removes easily and lasts a long time. I will probably stick with 845 forever, though I've been tempted by some of the more recent ceramic/nano coatings.

    Thumbs up for 845.

Here is a pic of my hood that I did with Opti-Coat Pro…. My brother did his F-250 and had enough left over for me to do my hood.

I am not too convinced yet……

No doubt about it... Blackfire Wet Diamond.

    http://www.detailedimage.com/Blackfire-M32/Wet-Diamond-P205/16-oz-S1/

You can get it off Amazon cheaper, but it is the best sealant I have ever used. I detailed a friend's 1998 Mercedes S500, black, and used this after I washed, clay barred, and polished it. His jaw hit the floor when he came to pick it up... and I hadn't even waxed it. Apply this, let it cure for 24 hours or so and then wax.

It's literally a bar of clay. You use it with a lubricant (like a quick detailing spray) on the painted surface to pick up the microscopic contaminants that get caught in the paint/clear coat. It also pulls away old wax residue, and can damage the paint if you use it wrong.

After using the clay bar, you should be down to a glass-like smooth finish. Then you can safely apply your polishes, cutting compounds, etc. Then finish with a sealant/wax.

I've always had good results using Meguiar's products like ScratchX, their cutting compounds (depending on how bad the scratches/swirls are) and finish with NXT 2.0 liquid wax. I used it on my gunmetal 2000 Accord...in 2013 I was still being asked if it was the original paint (which it was, minus the hood and trunk lid).

^^That NXT 2.0 is what I use after the Blackfire sealant. Love that stuff.

Clay bar is super easy to use. Only way you really damage paint is if you drop it and it has debris on it then rub it across your paint. Minimal risk with clay bar. You may go through more than one if you heavily contaminated paint.
