It doesn't take much to rack up that much in damages these days..

I remember that trek at URE that damn rover behind Jimbo drove me nuts with the squeaky belt. It was cool to see that BMW x5.

Thanks for the respond in my post! Do you get any UCA rub?
And do you have any head on pics? Trying to see if they stick out or are still sucked under the truck. Thanks man

Nope, no UCA rubbing. It's very close but does not rub.

They don't stick out - it's only a total of 1" wider track

Yeah I know it’s only 1” wider. I’m just trying to gauge how they look compared to my 255s on these TRD wheels. Any pics?

How are you liking the 4.30 so far? Any plans to do the ovtune also or do you think you’d need it after the gear change? I’ve got tall skinnies 255/85r16 but wanna add armor and shell in the future and wonder where the line will be when I’ll need a regear.

The 4.30's are great, for my needs. My work is 40mi from my house, so I drive 80mi a day and it's mostly highway. 4.88's would have been too much and would have killed my mpg's since I drive 75-80mph.

What they did do was keep my transmission from downshifting so damn much. Around here the interstates are like a roller coaster - up, down, up, down, up down, etc etc...so now it rarely downshifts into 4th unless I need to accelerate quickly. It holds 5th and 6th gear much better due to the ~400rpm increase in those gears.

MPG's have increased to around 19mpg, where before I was at 17.5-18. Not a big difference for some, but considering I put 40k miles on my truck in less than 2 years every mpg helps.

If I had a short commute, I would have went with 4.88's instead. The 4.30's weren't that big of a change to be honest, but it did put the truck back to accelerating and drive-ability like when it was stock.

My next move is to get OVtune, once they figure out how to disable the transmission learning. I don't feel like having to reflash it once a month. Hopefully it is out of beta status and more refined soon.

Good deal! Sounds like you found the sweet spot so far. Have you added any extra weight (sliders or armor, etc) to your rig yet?
I don’t know if I’ll be in the exact situation your in cause I’m rolling on the 255/85’s but I’m trying see where I’ll be when I add the weight to see if I’ll need to regear then

    Soon.

I have a FULL set of skids and sliders that need to be installed. Just waiting on the weather to get a bit nicer.

Best decal is the first one you installed, the BFL.

    Nice build thread

I'm with you on the OVTune, once they get all of the trans issues/programming sorted out, I'll likely do it for that alone. I don't really care about a small increase in power, I just want some better shifting. I'm a little spoiled coming from a BMW that had an awesome 8sp, but my wife's 16 T4R's trans isn't nearly as bad as our trucks'.
