Hello everyone, does anybody know how to find the locations of Tacoma models found on Toyota's website? It's frustrating that i can find a vehicle to my desired specifications yet Toyota doesn't tell you the location of the truck unless you contact a dealer.

    Thank you

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you but this drove me nuts when I was trying to find my truck build. Ford had a much better inventory lookup tool.

    Still in progress...
Had the same problem - spent several evenings trying to locate dealers that had the configuration I was looking for. Depending on the area code you are in the Toyota website will either give you results for an individual dealer, a regional area or an entire region. Agree with the above to use autotrader.com or cars.com but if you are looking for something as specific as an OR access cab with technology package (which will give you the color matched rear bumper) as I was, CarGurus.com may be better. Unfortunately not all dealers post their listings on these sites, so in the end I ended up finding mine by looking through individual dealers website inventories. A pain, but since I plan to have the truck for 15 years or more it was worth it. Good luck!

When I was looking back in December a lot of dealership sites forced me to enter a phone number or email. If you don’t want to get pestered by dealerships use this.

I found three trucks on the Toyota site that met my criteria. I went to my local dealer and said if you can get any one of these three at this price, you've got a deal.

A few days later, one of the three was at the local dealer waiting for me. It didn't matter to me where it came from.

Did they have to allocate it to your local dealership?

    Thank you

Found mine using AutoTrader. I was lucky and found one with all the options I wanted locally.

The trucks were already on another dealers lot. All they had to do was trade (or whatever they do) with the other dealer.

    A growing list of stuff
I am no expert auto buyer or negotiator, but here is what I did after realizing you don't want to give the wrong dealer your contact info and be bugged relentlessly.....

FYI: You don't want to ask them for anything other than what they have on their lot and therefore want to get rid of for a decent price.

    1. Figure out how far you are willing to drive. My max was 4 hours or so.
    2. Pull up Google Maps and start searching for Toyota Dealerships. Each one will have a site with all of their current inventory.
    3. Skim through their inventory using the search tools on the left side of the page. It seems like there is no more than 6 templates or so. I got to where I could go through some in 1-2 minutes a piece.
    4. Open a new tab in another browser window with each one that fits your criteria to reference back to.
    5. Once you have gone through all of the dealers that you are willing to drive to (for me it was 25 or so) and figure out who has the closest to what you want at the best pricing.
    6. Then you contact those dealers through their chat window on their site. You most likely will get connected to their internet sales department. They will usually give you their best price that they are willing to quote before you set foot in their dealership.
    7. Proceed to go back and forth with the most competitive off of the list until you determine who you want to go and visit.
    8. Save your game face for the finance department office visit at the end, and work whatever you can for better pricing and interest rates.
    9. At that point you may be ready to sign, or you can try leaving and playing around with the other dealers on your list to see if any are willing to sweeten the pot even further.
    10. Then sign the damn papers, and enjoy the truck that you worked so hard on getting a decent deal on!
    Just my 2 cents.....

    Mostly dust and dirt.
Toyota’s website is almost useless when looking at the Tacoma or Tundra. Availability seems to depend on region.

Toyota's website sucked compared to every other one I've ever used. Third Party sites were way too inconsistent with pricing. I wanted a hard to find model so I went directly to Dealer websites within 2 hours of me. Eventually I found exactly what I wanted within two days of it's arrival and it had not yet shown up on Autotrader or Car Guru. I jumped and got what I wanted, but it was harder than the last 6 New cars I've purchased.
