x (how every many) on just buckeling up.

first person I ever had die before my eyes was a pretty, young, highschool girl that was on her way back from a volley ball tournie. She didn't think it was neccisary to buckle up in the backseat and her skinny body flew out of the rear window when the car rolled 3 times. She died while I and other by standers worked her and while her friends said that they loved her and held her hands.

    just buckle up

Wait a minute. Helmets and burn suits have been proven to save lives as well, so it is OK if you are *forced* to wear them in your car/truck?

So you set off the airbag in your 2011 Taco trying to disable the seatbelt chime???? IMO, just wear your seatbelt man.

I hated that stupid chime! I don't need it, my arm automatically reaches over and grabs the seat belt to put it on. But sometimes I want it off like coming up a long driveway after getting out to open the gate or driving through a field or in the yard or out in the woods in and out of the truck. I can do all these things just fine on a lawnmower or tractor without a seat belt. It wouldn't be so bad if it just beeped twice then shut up.

I'm ok with the initial beeping and blinking lights, that is a reminder. But after that they ae just trying to annoy you into putting it on. Now I agree you should wear your seatbelt when out on the road for more reasons than just your own safety but Why not have the car beep and lights flash if you exeed the posted speed limit? Why is that ok but going without a seatbelt is more dangerous?

Or why are vehicles manufactuered to go faster than 80mph? that is the highest speed limit in the U.S. So many things that beg to be answered.

I like this sentiment but it means we have to pay more taxes for local emergency services to scrape them off the road.

Wow, what if it actually worked that way? Every time you chose not to buckle the driver's seatbelt, you were automatically taxed more to help offset the costs of emergency services. We tax the shit out of cigarettes because they cause cancer, why not tax other things that are proven to increase healthcare expenses?

Or for every mile an hour over posted speed you are taxed as well? Running a stop sign? Not wearing your seatbelt doesnt cause an accident. Not obeying the rules of the road does. Lets not get to crazy about seatbelts being somehow the pinnacle of vehicle safety.

i brought my 2011 reg cab 4wd 4cyl down to the dealership and they put the computer on the truck and shut the seat belt alarms on passenger and driver side. its the only option that the computer can change on my truck.
