seat belt alarm 2015!

Hey guys, trying to disable the mind numbing alarm on my 15 trd sport. I've tried the method that's been posted on here already a million times but it wont work. Am I doing it wrong or is it different for this model? Thanks!!!

 

Seat belt warning chime on 2015 Tacoma can only be "disabled" by Tech Stream software, from dealer or other source. Other methods to circumvent the chime have been discussed, use search function.

 

That has been true since the late 2011 ( with the white gauge face ) model year.

 

Unplug the deal under your drivers seat. It's the smallest connector and has one wire that's black and white and the other is black I think.

 

Does that really work and not disconnect anything else? Would also like to do this !

 

Dealer got rid of mine on my first service, I just asked. No charge, he said he gets it a lot...

 

unplug the circled plug. worked great for me

 

Worked for me. No seat belt chime or light on the dash when I drove about 10mph last night

Does this disable the airbag?

 

It most likely reduces the force in which the airbag deploys. A lot of vehicles are designed this way nowadays. I have no evidence to back this up for the Tacoma however.

 

now I need to figure out the passenger side. It is not the 2 wire white connector. It diasbles the airbag and the fasten seat belt emblem lights up

 

Hmm, wearing my seatbelt disables the chime every time...

I assume you do not hunt or drive private roads with gates or carry heavy stuff on passenger seat.

I wear my seatbelt pretty much whenever I'm in my truck, and buckling the belt before I put heavy stuff in the passenger seat silences the ring. I made my comment partly to be a smartass and partly because I won't make any mod that might reduce the effectiveness of the air bag system.
