Normally I buckle up, that disables the buzzer 100% of the time.

Just get the Toyota Techstream package for around $25, and do it properly (like dealers do) through the ECU.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/labor-rate-for-techstream-work.392542

And, the setting stays permanent even with battery disconnect.

I have one also but not for disabling the buzzer. Just makes it easier to buckle my seat belt. I gave more for mine also from http://www.seatbeltextenderpros.com/

I bought it for the 15 Colly I traded in and it works just fine in my 16 Tacoma.

If all it cost is 25 I'd be all over that right now!

But my only computer is a desktop and I'm not sure how I'd connect it to my truck.

If anyone is around central Florida with the ability to turn off the seatbelt alarm I'd be happy to pay you 35 bucks :D

I'm sure they meant the dealer does this with their own computer.

If I had a Toyota computer I'd even link my Flux Capacitor to the center console.

In the thread he linked it looks like others are doing this themselves, with their own computer or laptop.

I thought if you cut the wires or just turned off the alarm the vehicle would think that there is no one in the seat and not deploy the Air Bag system?

If I'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, I like to remove it, they annoy
the shit out of me for some reason, other than that I always have it on but
the extended latch is nice instead of having to dig down and find it.

Found this one on ebay, DOT approved for safety and for less than
$10 bucks it was a no brain-er for me.

    Reserected from the dead.
This is incorrect. Once you change the setting using the Toyota Techstream software, the setting will remain regardless if you disconnect the battery.

    Do you have a link?

And I assume the beep goes off even if there is nothing plugged into the extender?

Thanks bro. Just ordered a similar one from Amazon for 10 bucks. Delivery tomorrow.

    Thanks man!

My head unit doesn't have an app button to customize vehicle options. That would be ideal though.

Sorry, Much easier when you have that setup. My dealer still had to turn mine off for me.
