How can I get this seat belt chime to deactivate with using that OBD port deal? This thing will drive a person crazy.

Super easy with Carista. But you'd have to buy the dongle and pay $15 for a month subscription. It lets you change a bunch of settings.
I bought it specifically to turn off noise cancelling, engine noise enhancement, front seat belt chimes.

I just bought the truck a few months ago. What is the noise cancelling, engine noise enhancement stuff? I’ve seen this on YouTube videos and stuff, please explain….

Noise cancelling uses the audio speakers to play frequencies that cancel out nuisance noise. This has caused an adverse effect on some trucks by injecting an annoying drone sound around 2000rpm.
Engine noise enhancement uses the speakers to make the engine sound more throaty like a V8.

I have always been a seatbelt advocate after my life was saved in an accident as a passenger. My skull would have been impaled if it wasn’t for my seatbelt. I know I need to wear my seatbelt. I also don’t like being told to do things I already practice… why

Why, oh WHY is the chime so obnoxious? is this the case for every Toyota??

I wear my seatbelt, it’s just when I’m pulling the truck from the shop to my house or moving it, etc. I assumed there was someway to make that chime go away. I guess I may have to go the Carista route. Do you have to pay the $15 each month?

Buy a dongle/seat belt extender to plug into your car seat plug and then plug in your seat belt into it. I drive truck around my farm/fields/woods and get in and out often enough that seat belt chime drove me crazy.

Or cancel Carista after 1 month.

The subscription is month to month so you can buy, subscribe, shut off what you want, cancel and reup later if you want to modify more features/turn stuff back on.

    I drive a Miata.
My current job has me running an ATV around the plant sometimes. Often it has me moving the cart 10-20 feet at a time. Here's the thing. If I'm ever caught with the cart in gear and no seatbelt, its my job. Doesn't matter who I am, who I'm with, or whether I'm moving. If the motor is on and its in gear, the rule is seatbelt-or-pink-slip, and upper management enforces the hell out of it.

That rule has got me in the habit of putting on my seatbelt when shuffling vehicles in my driveway. Seatbelt goes on if I'm moving firewood 20 feet at a campsite. I got institutionalized. I never hear the chime because I'm now donning the seatbelt, always.

Funny thing is, once you do it you start to realize that you waste more seconds griping about / "fixing" the seatbelt alarm than if you just put on your seatbelt. Its not that big of a deal.

I alway wear my seatbelt if going out, but for situations you refer to (just moving in driveway, going from shop to house, etc.) this has been great. Very simple—— no app, no subscription, no electronics. When not using toss into your center console.

I first bought the seatbelt extender that looks just like the female end of the OEM. Worked great. The vehicle always thinks the belt is locked. Then I bought the Carista for that than the other annoying things. They had a sale on a one year plus the device package. When the year ends it will automatically cancel and not renew like the monthly plans.

Not worth spending money on the work-arounds. Carista dongle plus one month service is $60. Make all the changes you want.

I am pretty good at wearing mine as well, but when I am in a drive-through getting my wallet out of my back pocket and paying the cashier, the seatbelt alarm is going off. It will not shut off even when the vehicle is in park. I have never paid to shut off a seatbelt alarm before, but I did this time.
