I have a 1996 Tacoma and am trying to fix the wire coming under the floor on the divers side seat belt that indicates that the seat belt is not latched (a light comes on the dash and a beeping sound when the key is placed in the ignition). How do you get female receiving end of the seat belt apart to work on the wire?

what i have done on other vehicles was to just cut the wires before the plug and splice them together this will stop the annoying buzzer and seatbelt light and welcome from western N.C.
