I understand the frustration, my 2014 seems perfect (although I need a little more leg room) I just drove from Phoenix to Montana and back and was never sore in the seat. 10 years ago I had a Ram 2500, and that seat hurt me within an hour of a drive, and to look at that seat it should have been ultra comfortable.

No friend of a friend bought one , I prefer my tacoma but things I like about the zr2 was suspension , seats - more comfortable plus more adjustable positions .. , have a sport now and want to put leather / upgrade my suspension most likely 6112-5160 kit .

Can you post any more info about what you had done? The seats in my truck are so uncomfortable I've considered selling the truck. I'm 5'9"...if I put the seat forward enough I can reach the steering wheel, my knees are up..or I'm leaning forward too much. I feel like the seat is so high also..my head is almost at the roof! It's the most uncomfortable vehicle ever. I won't drive it distance any more. Considering new drivers seat or modifications...

Calikat hopefully he comes on and replies soon. I asked same thing. I think the way I understand it is the upholstery shop cut out part of the foam underneath and added more foam shaped in and more support and cushion. I had a 16 Tacoma in dec of 15 and sold it First of feb of 16 because my back and neck hurt but come to find out I had other issues and the seats not adjusting didn't help at that time. Since then had both shoulders broken loose and shots in the neck and rehab for 6 months. I got a Colorado in Mar of 16. now with 45k on it I want to get back to another Tacoma and planning on getting an 18. So I know how you feel. I commute and put on 650 miles a week plus. Only issue I have is the seats but think I can work it out now that I got neck and shoulder fixed but honesty still little nervous. Im 6 ft and 190 and test drove the 17 many times and once for about 1 hr but really like to rent one for couple weeks to make sure but cant find any to rent. Hopefully you can figure it out I know I loved mine a lot and if not for seat and been wanting back in one. Crazy why they didn't make the seats adjustable. No reason at all that they could not of dropped the floor maybe 3 inches and had at least 6 or 8 way seats. Really do hope you get it figured out if you like your Tacoma!

They work fine for me, through 10 hour trips every2weeks and long days in the oilfield in and out of the truck checking locations and people.
I am 6’ 225 pounds and 47 years old. I squat and deadlift Heavy and often so my back and posture are healthy though. Sitting is generally unhealthy though.

well I am still fighting with mine. I am same way. I drive more than 15 minutes my tail bone hurts. Ive had mine 6 weeks and 3900 miles. I just got it back from 2nd trip to auto upholstery shop. I had it put back to basically stock again Monday with couple small changes and as bad as I started and now over $400 later I am thinking of going back again tomorrow or Friday and put back to what they did first time again which was better and I went backwards going back trying to figure it out. It is absolutely the only issue I am having an I absolutely love this truck and have to figure this out for me somehow. I am 6 foot 190 and 55 yrs old

Might be possibly I have logged a lot of ass time in my truck but I think they are decent. Could be better but could be much worse. Drove from MD to LA and only complaints were my left leg goes numb (probably just from how I drive) and tab after driving for 8-12hrs just about anyone back is gonna hurt. Hahah but I also sleep in my truck on my lunch break and if I'm early to work. So mines like a firm mattress.
