No doubt, but on an item with an opinion range as wide as like that of your household couch, it’s expected.

Which is why I don’t have OEM seats lol.

I dont understand. If you dont like the seating position and ot uncomftorble then dont buy he truck. If they raised the seat any higher then your head would be sticking out the roof or the truck roof line would be silly high. Tacomas are know for the unique seating position. The 1st gens were even lower and you were basically sitting on the floor with your feet over your head and no lumbar adjustment. I have a messed up back but I find this seating position more comftorble than most and I have with all 3 generations. Again if you dont like it, dont buy it.

If Toyota would just put proper seat adjustments (seat angle and height) like almost any vehicle in this price range, it would likely solve most of the discomfort issues.

Has anyone tried to put 4runner seats in their taco? Or any other kind of sport seats. I do understand there's an airbag integrated into the seat so whatever replacement needs to have one also.

The only adjustment I have seen some of the taller folks do is a foam wedge in the back of the lower seat. Basically a wedge from 3" to infinity (none) in 2/3 the seat length forward. They hid it with a seat recover. You can try this to see if this works for you. If not, move on... this is not the truck for you. You want to be comfortable. If it is not, then don't do it. It's not the most comfortable vehicle I have ever been in, but I regularly make 6 hour trips in it and no issues (and I already HAVE issues). Every person is different - find what suits you.

My only first world problem with the seat is it not being leather. I didn't care, but I've had leather for 13 years prior to his. I forgot your damn jacket can stick to the cloth and ride up your back depending on how you get in and what the jacket is made of.

$40k for a decent car is hard to come by let alone a decent truck. Why do a lot of people think they deserve every technologically advanced option in basically the cheapest 4x4 you can buy? Again, raising the seat to fit all the motors necessary to make things mpre comftorble for a few people and they'd have to include roof cutouts for your head. The seat is what it is. The truck is comparitavley cheap. Deal with it.

3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma seats suck terribly. Don’t kid yourself. Even you guys with the Pros are being shafted every time you sit down. I’m average weight 185lbs, average height 5’10”. If they were not designed for an average joe like me, who were they designed for?

Anyone who defends the absolutely fucking horrible cheap-ass seats they put in these Toyota trucks should go sit in a base-model F150. This deficiency with the Tacoma would not be so blatantly obvious to me if I did not spend half my time driving a Ford at work.

Again.....I love my Taco, but there a special place in hell for the bean-counter a Toyota corporate that told the design team that little extra layer of nice foam was too expensive.

I dunno, I found my Taco seats to be more comfortable on any drive vs. my wifes RAV4 of the same year. Hers has leather, mine are cloth.

I believe it to be an issue with the cab spacing. Having driven a 4Runner before the Taco, the 4Runner felt spacious. That means it is not likely to get addressed until a re-design.

I tell everyone who asks me about the truck to ensure the seating works for them. It barely works for me and I am 5'9".

One, that is complete nonsense. Two, I'm asking for seat adjustments - not a built in mini-fridge or TV screens.

Even the Rav4 has seat height adjustments...

Exactly. I'm 5'10" 180lbs and in great shape. If the seats are bad for me, I'm not sure who they're designed to be for.

    I'm 6 even, 190.

    I traded my 2018 Taco for a 2018 4runner 4 weeks after buying it.

Worth every penny of the $2,500 penalty. I will always insist on a long-term test drive going forward.

What's nonsense is you bought a truck youre not comftorble in and now you're complaining. Good job. What I said is 100% accurate.

Read the poll man. A casual thread observer here would assume everyone has problems and hates their Tacoma. Yet 93% love it or would buy again. Real world would be much higher, since people with problems are much more likely to post.
I know a few people have issues with the seats and you are one of them. It's just that not very many do if you look at the total data.
    I'm out.
