What you said is part fact and part opinion. I am not debating your fact, just your opinion on how/what anyone should decide to do. You cannot be 100% right when commenting on someone's opinion. BTW, that is my opinion, and not a fact.

Your opinion would not have been something to remark on, had it not boastfully claimed to be 100% correct.

I’m totally fine with manual seats. I don’t change mine much and it’s one less thing to fail.

I have an '18 Limited with sun/moon roof, I am also your size. Limited leather seats are extremely comfortable and my head clear of the roof. Go to a dealer and try one on.

Clazzio seat covers helped tons for me. Added some padding and some squish

    I own both a 2018 4runner and 2019 Tacoma....two comments:

    1) I did do an extended two day test drive in both a 2018 Taco and 2019 Taco....during my first test drive the seat did feel uncomfortable to me (I have back injury issues)...the 2018 was so bad my sciatic acted up and my leg went numb (after about 45 minutes driving)...and I noticed the side bolsters were very narrow and dug into the backs and sides of my thighs (I'm 5'11" and 204 and an ex- semi pro jock- old but still workout muscular/fit - so not a mush ass), and unlike others who think "more bucket" is the needed solution, I felt the bucket was too extreme and if less would have raised the butt to a less pinched and constricting angle. I was still hell bent on giving the taco a chance and being absolutely sure...so I drove a 2019 for two days, and the seat felt instantly better(not great, but noticeably Better).... (my wife concurred without my asking), the bolsters "appear" to be about 3/4" wider spaced when sitting in the seat, the bottom padding seems softer and more conforming, and the seat back appeared to be far more able to "conform" to lower and mid back. It just felt more "padded" and "thicker" for whatever reason, illusion or otherwise, my sciatic didn't act up on exactly the same drive as the 2018. Was it great? No. Was it acceptable? yes. I ordered a 2019 and it feels the same as the one I test drove. More tolerable.

    2) My wife has a 2018 4runner TRD OR Premium: There is no comparison in my opinion. I will take the 4runner seating position, adjustment, seat quality, seat comfort, ANY day over my Tacoma. There is no doubt in my mind that if the Tacoma cab had adopted the same positioning, seating, height, adjustments, and dimensions as the 4runner front cabin- that any seating complaints would be at a minimum.

I am happy with my Tacoma, but the 4runner seating is superior. IMO only. FWIW. YMMV. Outlaw out.

transmission is EASILY #1 yet the Tacoma still is top of it's class in sales and people test drive that transmission every single day. this forum is NOT a good representation of toyota's actual customer-base.

You know that's really interesting about the 2018 and 2019 seats. I test drove the 2019 and the seat wasn't bad, the moon roof was the issue. The 2018 didn't have the moon roof but seat was an issue. I remember the 2019 seat being decent.

I'm fine, 5'8" and 165. I've had 6 Toyota pick-ups and I find the seats comfortable, including the faux leather Pro seats, or whatever they are.

Katzkin leather, heated seats, Popnloc, bed lights, remote start, bhlm....

I also have an 18’ limited 4Runner and the 4Runner seats are WAY more comfortable than the Taco seats. The Taco needs a power seat option.

I am optimistically 5'4" and a muscular 150 pounds. I am on my third Tacoma. They seem to be built for my height. The Tacoma fits me quite well. So yeah...for everyone else, maybe not so much.

Practically everyone with an issue with their vehicle will come to a forum to complain about it. However, hardly anyone who is not having that issue will come to a forum to state they are pleased, which makes the issue appear far more widespread than it actually is.

Took me a week or two to get used to the seat, but now I think it’s fine. I’m around 6’2” and I wish I could lower the seat height, but whatever. Just don’t plan on ever wearing a hat while driving.

At 5'4" I am all but certain that a Japanese engineer of my exact height designed the interior of the Tacoma. :bananadance:

The seats were actually something that made me question getting the tacoma.. I was just surprised that I went from a shit box kia with power seats that could move anywhere you wished to a well regarded truck that had manual adjustments.. Then I realized that I'm a set it and forget it kinda guy, and didn't need the adjust-ability.

Fast forward to a few weeks of having the truck, and my first long road trip.. and second road trip. SO MUCH back pain. I blamed the truck.. came to find out it wasn't the truck, it was actually due to a back injury I didn't know I had, and the posture I had (seat tilted back) wasn't helping.. So i put the back of the seat up, did a some physical therapy, and now I can go for hours in the truck.

The funny thing is I'm pretty short.. 5'7. Everybody talks about wanting a higher seat. I put 1" spacers in and holy shit I felt like i was sitting on the roof.

Anyways, over time driving my girls subaru and an expedition, both of which had really comfortable seats, I realized that I have come to love the seating position in the taco. The seats in the other vehicles were comfy, but just the fit of the vehicle around me never felt right. The taco fits me like a glove.. it took some time to realize, but I love it.
