So I noticed the material on my seats starting to fray at 26k miles. I checked the dealer site and got zero listings for seat covers. Anyone have any good experiences with aftermarket seat covers? I'm assuming this truck has air bags on the seat as they are tagged as such, which means I need break away covers...let me know if I'm off base there. I'd really like some quality covers that I don't have to stretch back over the seat every time I get in the truck.

Wet Okoles are a popular option and what I went with. Mine just arrived on Friday, about a month after ordering. Didn't put them on yet; when new they have a bit of a smell to them that fades. It's not that bad, but my truck still has that new truck smell and I'd like to enjoy it while I can. ;)

I have them in my Impreza though and they're great seat covers.

X2 on the Wet Okoles. There's a foam layer under the top fabric that make the seats feel much softer to the touch. They fit tight and don't migrate, almost like another layer of upholstery, and need to be stuffed under the plastic trim in some spots.

The most common choices around here are the TRD covers, Wet Okoles, and Clazzio. There are dozens of threads on each. Search and decide which is best for you. There is also Katzkins if you decide to swap the fabric instead of covers.

TRD seat covers have been extinct for something like seven years. Not exactly a popular choice for the OPs vehicle.

Yeah,I couldn't find the trd covers. My guess is the manufacturer can't sell them with air bags in the seats. So my next question would be air bag deployment with the wet okles.I didn't see any info on their site about it.

Wet Okole seat covers are made to allow airbag deployment. When you run through the ordering process on their website that will be an option/question.

I have inexpensive Costco neoprene material seat covers and they are pretty durable

G.o to Ebay for the TRD covers. They have them for newer vehicles with the side airbags also. Type in the year of your vehicle and it will give you the correct ones. I just got a
set of TRD covers from ebay dealer and they are very nice at half the price of w/o's

On my first Tacoma I had Cabela's Trailgear covers. I put them on within a week or two of buying the truck, and never took them off in 8 years. They were ok, but Wet Okoles are much more comfortable and obviously fit much better since they're customized for different seats. The Trailgear covers would sometimes bunch up a bit from sliding onto the seat.

I wish I'd have taken them off when I sold the truck. I didn't want them, but I'd have loved to see what the seats underneath looked like after all that time.

Hmmm. Did not know that. Guess the used market is out of the question too. Donka.

Postmasteroats posted that they are on ebay and it turns out he is right. Must be some sort of knockoff since Toyota stopped making them years ago. Price is good but there is no telling about quality, materials, or fit from the fleabay adverts. Might be worth a try ?

The TRD seat covers came from a Toyota Dealership.

I just ordered the Cover-king Leatherettes. My buddy has them in his Silverado and they are a nice clean fit. I wanted something more leather like since anything fabric just holds my dogs hair like a magnet. The fake leather will wipe down easier so dog hair and mud/dirt removal is much easier.

I know Wet Okoles get almost all the love around here, but I really like my (much cheaper) Cover King Ballistic covers. They are custom so they fit right and stay in place, look good, are tough, are waterproof, and the best feature for my fat ass is that you can slide in and out of the truck easily because they are semi-slick. Not so slick that when you touch the brakes you slide onto the floor, but slick enough that you can slide out nice and easy. If your original covers are fraying I would have to almost think that's due to sliding on the seats.

I too, went with the Wet Okoles. I had them on previous vehicles and they wear well and add just the right amount of padding. Also the easiest way to add seat heating option and I added the lumber support(wasn't thrilled with the factory lumbar). Got them with the piping this time....nice look.
