Here is a photo of my seat covers right after installation. Wrinkles disappeared shortly thereafter ........Seat covers.jpg

I also have vertex faux leather. Took several months to arrive. I was told 10 weeks. It took 19 weeks. The fit is amazing but i am disappointed with the durability. Scuffed the driver seat somehow. Didnt have anything abrasive in my pockets that i know of. They do sell replacement parts once youre a customer. They told me a new driver seat bottom cushion would be $75, but i think i would have to ship it back (pay for shipping) and wait for repair (shipped back to me no extra charge). Its a small scuff, but definitely annoying considering ive only had them for 2 months and use it daily for work (carpenter). I had wet okole in my 2002 4runner which held up great for 7yrs and 100k miles. Cant speak on fitment with those for my 21 taco. Heres a pic of the vertex seat covers installed, and a pic of the scuff.

You describe this mark as a scuff. By definition, that means something scraped the seat. I would guess you had some debris (wood chip, etc.) stuck to your pants when you got in one day that caused the scuff. I would try and put a vinyl dressing on the scuff mark and see if it fades. I have had these same covers on my seats for 21 months and I am in and out of my truck a minimum of 8-10 times a day with no scuffs.

Yeah, i sent pics to vertex and that was their response. Basically saying it wasnt covered under warranty. I always try to stay very aware of the condition of my truck and this scuff appeared during the holiday when i wasnt even working. Really no clue how it happened other than possibly from wearing a pair of joggers that have a concealed zippered pocket on the back. Bottom line, im extremely surprised and disappointed that my set of covers proved this fragile. I will definitely be more careful, but part of buying these was durability. I even thought maybe it was some sort of residue or tacky substance that could be rubbed off. I tried to clean the area (chemical guys leather detailer) to no avail. There are also 2 minor manufacturing imperfections on the driver backrest that vertex ignored when they replied to me. At the time i figured they may be creases that would go away. They did not. They also didnt bother me till this scuff happened. Now it makes me question their quality overall. They told me they changed suppliers in sept/oct of 2023 so it could be cheaper materials. Ive owned other SUVs and cars with leather seats and have never had an issue. Im a reasonable guy and was hoping that if i couldnt fix it, vertex would. It even says on their site that their warranty covers busted seams after years of use. Overall pretty bummed about it, but it is what it is.

You do realize these aren't leather, they are pleather. If this is bumming you out just be glad you didn't get actual leather covers because the cracks, marks and creases that form in real leather would drive you absolutely bonkers! If this is the biggest problem you have with your Taco I would suggest you grin and bear it and if it gets to the point where you can't, spend the $75 and get a new seat cover. By the way, very nice truck!

I've got Clazzios' now, and they work great. I normally travel with two dogs, and they get their paws in red Alabama clay and then somehow immediately deposit that clay on furniture, vehicle interiors, and work clothing. The Clazzios work great (easy to clean up) and protect the stock seats perfectly. Since installing them, I haven't had to remove them to clean them.

Prior to the Clazzios, I had the Bartact covers, like I had in my Wrangler. They fit really well, look great, have awesome accessories, and are customizable. Plus, they're covered with Molle panels for easy installation of my accessories. The only reason I had to change to Clazzios was because of the dog situation. Everytime I'd take them for a ride, and they'd get the covers hairy or covered in clay, I'd have to pull them out to wash them. They always came out great, but it's a pain to pull them out, wash them, and reinstall.

As an aside, if anyone is interested in buying a set of Bartact covers, let me know.

Tneynop: I hear you. I love real leather and how it wears with time. Definitely not against creases and natural wear that adds character. Just saying a scuff in a brand new seat from something so small that i dont even know where it came from…not such a great feeling. I agree with you that this is a very insignificant issue in the grand scheme of things. And you are right…replace when needed if i feel like it. Thanks for complimenting my truck. I absolutely love it!

axxkicker: do your dogs not scratch your clazzios? This is the kind of durability i was expecting. Do you have any pictures? I know they have a few options.

    Sure thing man-

The dogs get their nails done about every 5 weeks, and don't scratch the covers.

The first two photos, below, are the day that I installed the seat covers. The last two photos are almost 3 years later. The last two don't necessarily focus on the seats, but they're visible.

In the last photo, you can even see some of the famed Alabama clay on the middle of the seat back, at dog collar height.

They're still holding up well, and once scrubbed of debris, they take protectant well.

I'll see if I can get a better photo of the rear seat- That's the one that gets the heavier traffic and more drool/debris/red clay.

Do any of the aforementioned seat covers offer the rear seat belt pockets like the original rear seats?

I went with some $200 Amazon covers and I'm pretty impressed with the quality for the price. Good enough for my daily needs.
