Had a 2007 Mazda b4000 for 7 years and that baby was solid as a rock. Sold it with 230k km and she still ran like new.

They sure don’t make overbuilt compact pick ups anymore. Wish I could’ve kept it…

How much for new OEM foam pad? I don't think it'd be too bad to replace.

If anything needed it's own thread, this would be it. How difficult was this? Were you able to get the cloth/pleather off and back on OK?

Since having memory foam in my seats (Nissan nailed this) I was wondering if you could replace that stock foam with a heavy memory foam. Based on the size of that seat, you could buy a single memory foam mattress topper and have enough left over for a dozen seats.

More details on this would be greatly appreciated based on the responses in this thread...

I paíd $160 a few years ago for an OEM 2018 front seat bottom cushion. Trim shop installed the cushion in less than an hour for $90.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Nice. They were good trucks with few faults.

Gotta find some photos of mine. Never took many photos of my offroad trips then. We used to do this thing back in the day where we experienced life without a camera glued to our hand.

Nowadays we need photos like a junkie needs his drugs. :)

Yep, times were much better without “phones”. It’s shocking how many people I see that can’t sit still for a minute without fucking around in their phones, it’s sad really.

Our brains are not designed to be constantly staring at a small screen with hundreds of different contexts every minute.

Amen. If I could give you a hundred thumbs up for your comment I would.

I do not understand why people habitually walk around staring at their phone. Personally, I have never done that once. People stumbling out into traffic without looking up from their phone. What in gods name could be so important?

How did humans become so lame? Easy, invention of the mobile phone.

BTW, before smart asses say "old guy screaming at the moon", note that I worked in high tech for 23 years. Troubleshooting complex computer networks, and troubleshooting every mobile device created in the last 20 years. No love for any of it now.

Note that of the the several hundred computer techs I hired and trained, walking around looking at their phone was not a thing any of them did. I guess it is more of an end user habit.

Oh, again on the topic of seat collapse. Just take it to a car upholstery place and for very little cost they can make it new again. Worked for me.

One pic of my old Mazda. That is Lac du Bois Grasslands n Kamloops, back when it was permitted to drive that area. It was 37c that day, and no A/C in that truck. I was coming back down from the mountains after some belly boat fishing at a high altitude lake.

Looks normal for age and mileage on a forum. Also not hard to have replaced.

If you have another car you can save some $ by taking the seat out yourself and driving it to the upholstery shop and ask them to re-foam it with the same cover. I have done that on several other vehicles with great success.

Sometimes I have used a new lower cushion, other times the shop cuts their own out of universal foam. Every time I have instructed them to add a little more foam in the lumbar area. Also easy to add a $50 heating element if you are so inclined. Nice time to clean under the seat.
