Hey all. First post, though I've been using the forum for years to work on my trucks. This summer, I retired my 2002 ext. cab 1st gen and am now in a 2012 SR5 extended cab 4-banger, manual. Pros and cons between the generations, as I'm sure you all know. One thing I miss about the first gen is the 60/40 seat, not necessarily the lack of comfort, but at least the capacity to flip up the center console - good for my girl, my dog, on long drives,I also do quite a bit of science related field work and like having the "open" space for a laptop, gps, etc. I've done a ton of reading on seat swaps in 1st gens, and plenty on bench-to-bucket conversions, but wondering if anyone could clarify the options on mods to achieve a 60/40, bench, or console swap to one resembling the cushion and flip up of the first gens. Are there after market consoles that can go in and achieve something similar? Are there any 60/40s that fit this model rig (without wild mods), that won't totally sacrifice comfort? (I realize downgrading from buckets will never be as good). Would it be possible to leave driver's side bucket, and just replace passenger seat to achieve something like the first gen extended cab set up?

Any info folks have will be appreciated, there doesn't seem to be an obvious existing thread on the options to open up the space in the front of the cab (again, whether thats swapping one seat and console, just console...). Happy to post photos if needed.

    Cheers
