So, since i have an emotional connection with my truck and don't want to sell it i am forced to stuff a car seat in the back of my access cab, only issue is there is BARELY enough room to do so, has anyone ver modified the seat rails to slide further FORWARD? i know there are some basic brackets to move the seat but then it doesn't go as far back, so i want to retain the rear movement but also get the seat to slide all the way toIMG_4400.JPG.jpg the dash

Do you have to seat 2 adults as well as the baby seat?

Plain and simple, either put the child in the front seat, or get a second vehicle. Last option is to get someone to custom fab brackets.

i agree Maulcruiser...we have a second vehicle, a car, but the nissan altima just doesn't 4x quite as well in the mountains during camping season, also the little jump seat in the back is pretty damn uncomfortable for an adult. the car seat fits back there but i have to wedge it and stuff it pretty hard to get it past the seat, if i could get the seat another 5-6 inches forward it would slide right in. i was going to fab up some brackets but i would rather increase the movement of the rails and not just move them forward, figures someone at some point tried the same thing

I suggest get another set of rails. Have a metal shop cut and weld a section into fit your rails.
CAUTION; With the seat all the way forward in it's new position the Airbag will be closer.

This. Have you measured where your wife would be in relation to the room you require for the child's seat?

Get rid of the passenger seat. Leave the wife at home and just take the dogs and the baby haha. We'll call it the nagging-ball-and-chain delete mod. Matter of fact I'm going to unbolt my passenger seat now.
