I bought a set of front bucket seats from a 97 4Runner and I would like to know the easiest way to get them swapped into my 98 Tacoma so I can get rid of the 60/40 split bench seat. I've read this thread and it was mentioned that I should be able to unbolt the seat rails from the driver seat of the split bench and mount it to the 4Runner driver bucket seat? Is that a correct statement? Will the 4Runner passenger seat need to be done the same way by swapping the seat rails? Will the seat rails just simply swap out and bolt on to the 4Runner bucket seats?

    Thanks!

20170425_131519.jpg I have had a set of 98 Tacoma seats stored in my basement since 99. I had the center console but tossed it by mistake when cleaning.I see you are in Oregon so this wont do you any good but if anyone is in the vicinity of south jersey they are for sale. They are in perfect shape other than dusty dirt from old basement. a little squashed from being stored stacked.20170425_130817.jpg

do you know where a writeup for this is? I can't find any Tacoma limited seats. I'm about to break down and get some 4Runner limited seats instead. Those are everywhere.

If you don't want to cut/weld the rails from the Tacoma seats to the 4runner ones

    1) bolt in the 3 holes that line up
    2) drill a hole in the floor for the 4th
    3) using appropriate size hardware and a fender washer on the back bolt in the 4th.

I would love to have a nice bench seat in that color to replace this '96 seat.

    no not at all yet

the 4runner seat LKQ found with similar mileage was a crusty heck of a mess under there like the thing had flooded out left to die in some Topeka Kansas pond :(

are there any other ideas available?

I found a couple of 2000 4 runners with the cloth manual seats. Both have 220k miles of wear on them. I've got a pair of scion seats for sale if anyone wants to take on the project
