Do you have any factual guidance on how to do this? I haven't seen this option in the infotainment system...

You cannot do it, its a dealer only option. Its listed in my owners manual under customization, page 660.

That's funny that they refuse to do something that is listed in the owners manual as an option. It really shouldn't be up to them, as far as I know the buzzer isn't required by law.

Just wait until you need a couple grand worth of work done (assuming you use stealership service dept.) and tell 'em everything you need done...then throw in a "oh by the way, can ya shut off that stupid seatbelt buzzer". If they say "we can't do that", then just say "oh well nevermind then....no I mean on ALL of it...cancel my appt...thanks anyway". If they try that after the fact, tell them you're not paying the bill until the ENTIRE work order is completed.

It works in my mind lol....maybe not so much in real life...but try it :)

    Yup.
    1) find a toyota dealership.
    2) call and ask a service manager if they can perform this shut off
    3) if they can, you're in business!
    4) if they wont, repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have the desired outcome.

Bonus fact: Toyota of El Cajon in SoCal performed this shut off for me. But the service manager I used no longer works there.... so its anyones guess if they will still do it.

Bonus bonus fact: you can also shut off the passenger seat belt chime. You just have to ask pretty please....

What is wrong with you? Do a search for “don’t shit on other people’s FS threads.” Especially when it’s a maker.

You can turn it off yourself with the Carista app and a Bluetooth OBDII dongle.
It might cost a few bucks more but I think it is a better option in the long run

Yep. Carista worked for me. And you can change it back if you so desire.

Same here. Bought an ODBII Bluetooth adapter off Amazon, used the app to turn it off. It's been off for a year. I still buckle up, but it's nice to not listen to that wretched noise when I'm just moving the truck or something.

You can also change a number of other settings- turn signals, lights, door lock settings, shift points, etc... JK on that last one. Couldn't help myself. :D

I managed to electronically add this feature when I got my performance tuner. Comes in handy for other things too

Wear your damn seat belts people, even on the trails. I've seen people get seriously injured even during light wheeling sessions without seat belts.

What app did you use to do all that (minus the shift points lol)?

Yea. I second that. A lot of areas still require seats even on the trails.

Takes maybe 5 seconds to put on your seatbelt and maybe 3 to take it off. I’d be surprised if you could install the silencer, and later remove it (for your normal commute) in a significantly less amount of time.
