Just thought I would throw it out there...I know there are many threads on this already.

I stopped by Toyota on my lunch break to see if they could disable it. After a bit of banter with one lady at the counter and her trying to tell me to "just wear my seatbelt and it will stop", another associate came over and offered to help.

he plugged my truck into the laptop and turned both seat chimes off in a matter of minutes. The only customizable features in the truck's computer is the seatbelt chime for both the passenger and drivers seats.

Great experience and 0 cost! Now I don't have that annoying chime anymore.

    Thanks toyota!

There is more they can change when plugged into the ECU other than seat belt chime. I just took out the gauge cluster and removed the speaker off the back to solve my problem. I hate chiming noises in vehicles. I also removed the LED for the seat belt light, even though I always wear my seat belt I don't need an idiot light telling me its not connected.

You are lucky Toyota did it for you, they won't do that here for most people since it's considered 'unsafe'.

He's correct the only thing customizable is the seatbelt. I have the Toyota tech stream software and obd cable.

You are both right. There is a difference on what package the truck came with. Higher end models have more customizable parameters.

This has always been a thorn in my side when it comes to the dealers. If you spend 30k on a truck, you should be able to set it up the way you like.

I've had a 13 sr5 and my 14 off-road, the features are exactly the same in tech stream.

The tundra has quite a few customizable features.
