Seatbelt issue

    1997 Toyota Tacoma
    Both my seatbelts no longer are working. When i try took click them in they wont lock. I've tried cleaning them and lube them. Northing works. Any help. It a 1997 and they are original.

    Easy to just unbolt if there are. I don’t think the nut is on the body underside.

    Never, ever buy a used seatbelt or a part of one - ever. You have no idea of its history or real condition. Any seatbelt, including all of the others in that truck should be replaced with brand new ones, especially after 23 years. The metal parts will likely be fine but anything with nylon webbing will have aged beyond its safe use limit.

    I had the same problem. In my case, the red plastic button was crumbling and little pieces of it were falling down into the latch. I ended up replacing the buckles with buckles from a Mercedes Sprinter van. Toyota has discontinued my interior color (oak) and only offers gray now. The mercedes buckles are black and are the same length
