So I'm often found driving low and slow ( < 10 mph ) down low volume roads with
binoculars in one hand and a Nikon camera in the other spying wildlife out the windows.

Jumping in/out to get a shot is a pain in the rear with that stupid nag.

Can I turn that damn thing off - it goes away on its own after a bit but after you slip
into Park and then re-gear to Drive it starts over again.

    Spied this guy today...

Yes. Toward the end of the Owners Manual, there is a section on customizable options. The dealer can turn them off, but don't expect that they will help you out. The Carista app can do all of the customization as can someone with the Toyota software, which happens to be many of us. Check your regional section.

It's an option in your settings but it's locked by the dealer, they can plug in and turn it off for you by request. I've heard of some pushing back but I didnt have an issue with them doing it.

Gila woodpecker? In Az or CA? Nice photo!

I disabled my alarm with techstream at my dealership too - try leaving your mechanic a $20 in a please note on your dashboard. It makes way too much noise when you don’t want it to.

Our trucks make awesome blinds- bighorn sheep, hawks and owls are my main types of wildlife images I’ve done. Nikonist too- D7000 (it’s smaller sensor size is great for telephoto lenses) and a D750 for landscapes & other stuff. I take a lot of time getting a shot, so I usually go for classic MF lenses- 600mm/f4 MF, 300mm/f2.8 MF, etc. they’re awesome and cost so much less than the new lenses that haven’t improved- optically speaking. I haven’t tried it yet, but my RTT is going to be an awesome and comfortable blind when I go on my next wildlife photography trip!

Same boat, good to know! Thanks for posting.
I wouldn't want to do the bottle opener thing as I do use the belt on other occasions, have to take it out to use the belt then.

That's an idea... or cutting a piece off a wrecked one to just 'insert' now and again would work too... kinda akin to the bottle opener mentioned above.

I used to be a bottle snob since I was a kid. A while ago, it all settled in when I realized what the best beer typically comes in. A keg. Cans are just easier and better. Haha!

Also, quieter when they're rolling around in the cab.

Turkey Vultures have the appropriate beak strength for opening beers. Just ask them to not backwash when doing so.

I just leave it buckled, all the time and sit on it. While hunting.

I went with a friend to a junkyard to find a part for his older pickup, I was able to cut some seatbelt clips off of busted Tacomas on the property (RIP). Definitely makes slow maneuver driving more enjoyable.

I wonder how those buckles perform in a crash? Assuming people just leave them in.
