How's this work? Is it a sensor in the buckle itself or it tells if the belts stretched out or what? And if I buy a buckle from a junkyard and plug it in will it shut up?

Mine does that when I load the passenger side front up with groceries. I tried stretching it out to stop the dadgum beeping but it would not stop until I actually buckled it in. I just ignore it now. It eventually stops. My ford had a sequence of things to do to turn that off. Don't know about the toyos though.

Yeah I've had a cooler on passenger seat set it off. I had to buckle it in. I wanted to just get one from a junkyard so it don't beep. Also I'm talking driver side. That's the one I want to shut up

Drivers side? You don't wear your seat belt? Or am I missing something here...

On some roads, like rough, slow driving trails, I don't wear it either. Always use it highway/around town. Mine only lasts 25-30 secs then quits anyway.

Don't think the junkyard approach will work though.

I had the dealer disable the chime on my truck. Told them I’m often in and out driving at low speeds for work :p

I used Techstream and it worked but you have to get Techstream and make it work first.

    Try this experiment

Most of us can sprint at 9 mph. A few faster. So, run as fast as you can into a tree. It’s only 9 mph so it won’t hurt.

Its not the fall that will kill you, it is the sudden abrupt stop at the end.

Techstream will turn it off, as well as a buckle end.

This this what you need? Have to do it for both sides & if you disconnect the battery.

    Ignition ON
    Trip reset to ODO
    Ignition OFF
    Ignition ON
Press & hold trip reset for 12s
Hold trip reset, fasten seat belt you want to disable
    Release trip reset
    Press trip reset to b-off

Total PIA, takes me a couple tries even after having done it a couple dozen times.

Doesn't work for later models. A '13 like subs has needs the techstream.

Does this mean if I crash at 9mph with a seat belt I wont come to a complete violent stop?

What happens when you get into a roll over and you hit your head and get knocked out (side window), your truck is on the roof and your seat belt is latched so you're hanging upside down knocked out and then the flames start to reach you and you wake up but you cant get out of the seat belt and you burn alive? #IdRatherBeEjected

yeah, while i'm burning and my contents in my truck have been unorganized everywhere i'ma look for a seat belt cutter.. i race motorcycles and ride them on the street.. still would rather risk getting ejected.
