Tacomaworld had been uberhelpful to me for years but this is the first time I couldn't find my answer in someone else's thread. So this is my first post.
Looking for new front seatbelts for my stock 95 Tacoma SR5 and want some input before pulling the trigger. Confused by the part #s and descriptions at www.parts.toyota.com.
According to the VIN build sheet the truck was ordered 3/05 and the Date of First Use =July 17, 1995. According to the Toyota parts website only bluish-grey belts are listed for this production date. But my seat belts are the "light oak" color. Don't care about the colors not matching just want to be sure they will fit. Attaching a photo of the right front part number and description. Will this fit my truck?

Not sure how much of this will help but try this one and use your vin in the search box.

All else fails, reach out to this guy - awesome dude who is, in many cases the go-to OEM parts source around here. He's quite busy so you may not receive an immediate reply.

Another alternative would be just to call your local service department, tell them what you need and then ask them for the part#.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld!

were you having problems with them retracting or just total worn/shredded?
i have been having to hand feed mine back in for many years now and not sure if they are needing re-tensioned or if they are just totally shot and need new

from my late teen days as a lubeTech this was cleared up by announcing checking/filling '.......' on driver/passenger side bay 1,2,3, so the pit guy underneath knew which side to be on and not get drenched with potential overspill!
since we were facing each other above/below it made perfect sense to use this so as to avoid confusion

Right tells me Drivers side (facing engine), since they did not pit train me for some reason lol

your method confuses the heck outta me :(

If yours is original and you have to hand feed it I would buy a new OEM one before they are all gone.

thank you!!, I just need to locate the proper part # for the bluegray xtracab

does your single cab have a different type part#?
... or I can just visit the local parts dept and get the # and a quote (and see if she is still womaning the desk!)

Just lost tension, not shredded. I read mixed reviews about the efficacy of tightening the tensioner and my wife has really been bugging me to replace not fix them. So happy wife happy life and i'm replacing them.

did you get free shipping at camelback?
I don't think McGeorge gives that deal

Orders over $150 at Camelback get free shipping. So the cost would be 162.13.

But if I ordered it at McGeorge, based on my location, the cost + shipping to me would be 162.64. I usually get FedEx 2 day delivery based on my location being close to Memphis TX.

I think if someone is located west of the Mississippi (with AR being the exception), you are better off ordering from Camelback if the order is over $150.

    Piggybacking on this thread...

Are the part #s for the front seat belts the same for early and late 1st Gens, despite the change of shading in the gray and tan?

Is the failure to retract a function of usage or time?

Finally, does anybody else find themselves doing that weird feeding thing on seatbelts in other cars, only to find that they work perfectly and you look kinda silly? I bounce the belt on across my fingers just to alleviate some of the friction and the belts kinda sorta still retract on my 95.

No. Early models don't have pretensioner, like later do.
