I'm sure the only reason OP wants to turn the chime off is for when he is driving on his ranch in Texas. I apologize for my STUPID reply.

Agreed. Or if you like having what is left of your ass, scraped up off of the freeway.

Watch your mouth! I don't appreciate you using my Lord's name in vain. That's all I have to say about that.

I feel like I've been to this thread before... Just plug in your seatbelt behind you, and if your going to be without it be safe and at least wear it at times where you could possibly die without it. Safety first

I've been hanging upside down in a vehicle before from my seatbelt after a rollover. I'd be a lot dumber (or more deader) today without that sucker... 0.02

There are lots of very judgmental people on this thread. You don't know the OP's reasoning for not wanting to buckle his belt. So, if you don't know how to help him turn the nanny chime off.... move along.

And, fyi there are valid reasons to turn the nanny chime off.

It's the internet where people can chime in and run their mouth from the safety and
    anonymity of their keyboard.

To the OP, no idea on this one, in my 2011 you could do it easily from the trip reset & on/off
toggling of the key. I'm looking for an answer as well.

From 2013 to 2015 it was suppose to be a custom feature that the dealer could set for you. The problem was some dealers just refused to do it. I suspect that Toyota made the change from earlier models intentionally so the owner could not do it. Not sure what the motive was. Next time I buy I new vehicle I will have it done prior to the sale. I did this with my current one to get a 3rd key made at no charge.

I thought the same, they knew how easy was to disable so we'll have to work for this one. :D

Add him to your "Ignore list" or find a good Christian forum to spend your time on. I love the ignore feature on this site, works wonderfully!

    The better coast
" no one in my family wears one" doesn't sound like a valid reason.

Amen brother!!! And as for "go find you a good christian website", I found a good website called Tacomaworld. Lots of good people on this site. A lot of knowledge and know how from good people. I will not apologize for standing up for Jesus Christ. I just think that all of the foul language is pointless. Just my conviction. Thanks.

All 4 pages of scolding and righteousness aside (that I am not going to bother to read), did anyone notice OP has 2006 and he can disable the beeping himself using the trip reset and ignition key? Dealer doesn't need in on this for 2006s.................

    Do this...............

    1) Turn the key 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the truck (Leave you foot off the brake) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

If God is your co-pilot do you really need a seat belt or airbags?

I wear my seat belt proudly and always......without any unecessary BS reminder noise from the truck.

Maybe his whole family has a valid reason. Why does he need to justify anything? He just asked how to turn the nanny chime off.

I've been wearing a seat belt every time I get in a car since the mid-80's and it's habit. I don't need a buzzer to remind me to put it on no more than I need a reminder on a cup telling me that coffee is hot. We need to remove all these silly, obvious warnings from things and let nature thin the herd.

Because many here would rather run their mouth trolling this section than
give an actual answer or just move the fuk on if they have nothing to add.
