After driving my 17 double cab for about eight months I have realized that my lower back is really staring to bother me. I think its because of the seating positon due to the fact that with my feet flat on the floor my knees sit up high putting pressure on my lower back, I'm about 6 feet tall and wondering if anyone is experiencing the same problem?

Yeah it's a common complaint on these trucks. You'd think Toyota would wake the fuck up and put power seats in these things or at least height adjustable. It's pretty lame.

For someone 6 foot tall there is not room to height adjust up. My head is already at the roof. Seat can't go down any further, it is on the floor.

I am 5'-10" and the seats are alright except lacking some thigh support, if it had a little height adjustment it would probably cure that issue.

Sounds like you're SOL OP, you can't go up and for sure you can't go down.
But what you could do is drive to the stealer and get the best deal you can on a Tundra. It sucks I know, but it happens.

    Best of luck

Edit: Just make sure the Tundra has the adjustable driver's seat, I believe they start with the SR5 trim.

5' 8", seats fit just fine. But I've heard complaints.

The Clazzio seat covers gave me a more comfortable feeling and added 1/2" to my bum and back 5'10" here.

That may not work for op, IDK if an upholstery shop would help either with thinner cushions, the expense can rack up pretty quick and resale value may go down with alteration. Best bet, Taco has good resale value, he's 6', he can trade for a bigger vehicle.

I'm 6' and find the seating to be fine. I occasionally long for a little more lumbar support (with the truck's lumbar maxed out), but that's about it. I bet a small pillow off Amazon would solve that.

Small pillow may help. but not everyone 6' over or under has the same torso size, or arm, leg, etc, so only he would know best, I think we all want to help but as great as our trucks are, there are limits to seating comfort. Only RR and other very high end models take drivers measurements for custom seating I believe.

I'm 6' 1" and had to crank up the lumbar to help. I have to sit upright because I can't gangsta lean with the manual shifter.

I'm 6'2" and a touch over 300, no complaints with the seats or headroom but mine's an access cab without a sun roof.

Everyone complains about how low they sit in these seats and how streatched out they feel. For me it's exactly opposite. My BMW seats sit almost on the floor. At 6'6" tall I have the seat back as far as it will go and as low as it will go. Same in the Tacoma but I feel like I'm sitting on a bucket, much higher than needed. I want the comfort of my laid back, stretched out BMW seats. I will say the I couldn't fit in a first gen with a sunroof, not enough headroom. But I could in one without a sunroof. The first thing I told the salesman is that I needed to check out headroom before we go any further. I got about 2-3 inches of headroom. And that's not a lot. I going to have an upholstery shop shave the seat a little lower for me and contour it a little. They are not comfortable at all.

No issues for me. 6'3" and 198# and I have a sunroof. Can go 3 hours plus without having to take a stretch break. Can't say the same for my C class Benz.

The Tundra is a billion times better in the seating, Especially on longer travels I had a 12 and a 15...

I'm going to guess that a Tundra seat wouldn't fit into a Taco? Be a lot cheaper than buying a new truck. On second thought, why not look into aftermarket seats? Still cheaper than another new truck.

OP, the seating on the Tacoma is a mixed bag. Some like it, some don't, and others just tolerate it. Some never like it and cannot learn to live with it. If you are one of those, you may be better off in another truck. I like the seating but would love even a very basic power seat. I don't have the moonroof but at 6' I have no issues. Heck, now that I'm into the 40s I'm likely 5'11" but I have plenty of headroom and would think we could be graced with a basic power seat... I have seen some people slightly mod the seat frames and this has helped some but this just comes down to whether you can tolerate the seating.
