Try not putting your feet flat for awhile and see if that helps.

Not sure how some of these folks are measuring themselves. I'm 6'1 and have never hit my head on the roof. It can be tough for sure to squeeze in under the wheel sometimes and the seats are not the best. But the issue with these trucks is gutlessness under the hood, not brain box clearance. In my opinion.

For those of you coming from 2nd gens, how do the seats in the 3rd gen tacoma compare to 2nd gens?

The seating position is the exact same for me. I do like the fabric more on the third gen and to me the seat sits better. I had some issues on longer trips in my second gen and I have not had those on this one.

i think its power seats is all i hear about

i think you could but a diesel engine and coat the truck in gold and have the A/C shoot hundred dollar bills at you and people would still complain about the seats not being power seats

come on you drive the best in the world be happy

I think the lack of a power seat is an issue. I would like power seats too BUT I'm one of those that has no issues with the seating position. I like it because I don't have to step up or down to get into the truck. I just move straight over into the seat and love it. It's great for those of us nursing old back wounds/injuries.

    none yet/none planned! It's perfect!
Owned my truck over a month and the seat has not changed positions since day one and won't unless my wife drives it. The salesman told me that an Engineer at Toyota told him that is the reason they don't put electric seat in the Tacoma because the owner will drive the truck 99% of the time so why worry about the 1%. I would agree.

Also from what I heard, adding power seats adds weight, which is exactly what the tacoma doesn't need.

Minimal weight. Almost every car maker either has them or has an option for them so I doubt Toyota is the only one that hasn't figured out how to make a power set for the driver although I'm starting to wonder...

It would take a major drop in sales due to the lack of power seats for them to improve on that, and that's not happening so no way they gonna take a hit by adding them nor do they want to increase the price as ppl are already complaining how expensive the truck is including me for the lack of amenities.
I wish it would but if it adds $25-50 to the price or cost, I don't see it happening.
And this is why I don't fill out surveys, companies always find a way to use it against you.

I think the Tacoma is about to be forced to offer more. I love my Taco but the upcoming Ranger has the potential to hurt it, especially with all the EB engine options. Maybe Toyota will respond but the lack of a front power seat, as unexplainable as it is, was certainly not a deal breaker for me. I like the seats.

I thought long and hard about the seats, but when I test drove it, I knew that I could work with it and It's just me driving the truck for the most part, so it was not a deal breaker.
But you can increase the seating position without compromising the resale by adding washer on the rear of the front seat fasteners, it can make it flatter, but you need to have a little head room, not good if your head is at the ceiling already though.

here's what i wrote in another thread a while back:

but i must add that i also hated the seats. my right leg went numb consistently after 90 minutes, which is frequent for my drives. so i went to an upholstery shop and had them carve out the seat foam, create a bucket, drop the seating position, and support my legs well. $200. it's now the most comfortable seat i own, and i can drive for literally hours with zero discomfort from the seat.

OP I'm 6'1" and the flatness was killing me. a few months later now i can confirm this was a perfect fix.

The drivers seat position feels exactly the same as my 2000 4Runner. It also has the same adjustments as my 2000 4Runner (minimal). But I'm used to it, so ...

The seat would be great if it was power adjusted.

It would be nice to be able to adjust the height.

But I still sit comfortably, so I got no complaints.

    I'm 74" tall and 200 lbs...

Not to shabby for being only 3000 weeks old.
