Dan Fast mufflers on 99 have done some quick welding jobs for me (light tabs on bumper, etc.). Only charged me $20.

Good idea! I didn't even think of em.
I had them do up my Flowmaster last summer sometime so I'll give em a call when I get my hands on the bumper.

isn't there a fab shop near you? after all the shitty craigslist welders I've seen... I'd be way skeptical to have one weld on my truck... especially if it's going to be dealing with the force of pulling your truck when you winch... IMO it'd be worth $50-$60 shop labor for less than 20 mins of work...

Mm yeah there's an off road shop nearby but they're outrageous when it comes to pricing. I'll give this muffler shop a whirl since this is a job you can't really jack up too much & they did good work w/ my muffler.

Well I originally wanted to use Rustoleum Bed Liner spray. I really liked that idea since I used it on my sliders, except they get scratched/beaten up and then there's immediate rust after it so I just figured Line-X shouldn't be a problem with thickness, and it will hold up when it comes to (possibly) hitting things -- which will happen when I get that up front haha

I think the only issue will be the fitment at the side plates by the front body mounts. With pwdercoating, mine is tight enough to hold the bumper in place without any bolts in. A good whack or two with a hammer should make enough room if needed. That or a grinder.

Yeah I'll take another look tomorrow but I just looked under my rails at the holes and saw the thickness (about 1/8" thick) so I brushed it off, will find out with test fitting though.

Yeah I was thinking that or a rubber mallet, or grind & paint to fit it snug.
Either way it has to be perfect, as always

couldn't you also just NOT powdercoat/LineX those areas and just paint them? they're not exposed, you might be able to see them hence the paint, but I sure as hell hope he's not planning on hitting those on anything that would need the LineX durability!

Yeah I could do that too, but if all else fails with the Line-X I could just grind it down to the bare metal in those places and go your route.

UPDATE: It wasn't shipped up here to Redmond, WA it's in Redmond, OREGON. He had just dropped it off-- a week later than I was told it was dropped off

Damn dude... WTF. Hope he makes it right in some way... I was going to order his DIY kit but if this is the BS he puts his customers through be damned if I'm gonna send my money to him Oregon buisness or not.

sucks cause I liked the look much more than his old partner in Nevada...

In my opinion, he makes the best looking product on the market in terms of front bumpers, hands down. However, the enormous downside is that the customer service aspect of his business sucks-- that would be the sole reason I would not do business with his outfit again.

Maybe his DIY kit is different in terms of time to manufacture?
I know with my bumper it took a little over a month before the bumper was cut out.

Tim is a good guy but extremely busy. I get the feeling he does this more out of the love of all things Tacoma than keeping food on the table. I had a 2 month wait with no group buy discount and what showed up wasn't quite what was ordered. Even so, I'd still do it all again.

One of those things where you order it and forget it. One day it magically shows up on your door step and you're like, "Oh... yeah."
