Haha, understandable I guess. I can pull for most of the SEC against whoever they play except Bama, for previously stated reasons (my father). I just can't and won't pull for Bama, also living in this state as an opposing fan is miserable, rarely is a Bama fan respectful to me during the season.

Eh every team has them. Bama fans are obviously more noticeable living in Bama and because there are more of them. I, however am a realist. Yes I am a Bammer and will never change but I also realize that we won't win every game by 50 like some do and it's not the end of the world when we do lose. I'm very passionate about Bama football because my dad was and he also graduated from there. But my closest coworker and brother n law are die hard AU fans and I've watched irons bowl with both just fine. It's all about realistic fans with realistic expectations. People that just bash one particular fan base over and over though need to get their head out of their ass and take off their team's colored goggles and realize every team has those types and not all are that way.

Oh I agree completely. Your comments alone let me know I can discuss football with you. The majority of my friends are Bama fans anyways, but I only keep them close if they are respectful. I'm an LSU fan, yes, but I'm a college football fan too. I don't praise and worship my team, and I don't only watch/cheer for them. I love everything about college football and I just want to be able to discuss/banter with people respectfully about it.

Oh I can talk college football until I am blue in the face. I am almost as passionate about college football in general as I am about Bama alone. It's almost a hobby to me. Discussing teams, conferences, players, or coaches just go ahead and count me in!

Just found this thread, do ya'll not go in the NCAA football thread? I don't recall your names in that thread.

Die hard Dawg fan here (obviously) with what I think is realistic expectations regardless of the bad rep a lot of my fellow Dawg fans tend to have. I do have high hopes for our new era under Kirby. Not sure what to expect this year, I feel that Kirby should be able to do at least as much as Richt did but hoping he/they can exceed any expectations, but that is highly unlikely with Lambert at QB. I hope to see Eason get some playing time and hopefully show he can take over the job. Go Dawgs!

Nah I use to creep on that thread but knew I'd get into strong debates with some so I steered clear. Haha besides, SEC Football IS college football!

I agree with you I think Smart can at least keep up what Richt was able to do. I think k yalls best bet is Eason at QB just like I think ours (Bama) is Blake Barnett or Jalen Hurts. I like the idea of a young QB getting his feet wet early. I think thay helps them I the long run. I think yalls season is gonna really be determined of Chubb's health and confidence. If he comes back without missing a beat I have a feeling we will Sread yall in ATLANTA. Good luck this year for sure. Gonna have to pull for Alabama of the East aka UGA this year!

Yeah, so many unknowns for us this year. But Chubb is supposedly back to normal but I'm not totally convinced until I see him in action. Not that I'm doubting him, just that it's hard to come back from an injury like that. Even if it's just mentally. We need Eason to come along to really be able to compete, along with Chubb that is. But As good as I feel Smart can be he is still a first year head coach so time will tell. I have little faith in Lambert but do understand the decision to start him. I'm just hopeful that Eason gets some playing time early and takes over.

I blame Richt for that, we should have took advantage of a weak East division.

Meh, UGA never had the strength to do anything. They had 1-2 good strong seasons but that's it

But that's why I blame Richt, we had enough talent but consistently were inconsistent.

I've already said this in the other NCAA football thread, but Chubb won't win the Heisman because he's going to have to share too much of the load. With Michel and Holyfield in the backfield, he won't get the required touches for Heisman consideration. McAffery or Watson will win it this year unless something crazy hapens. Maybe if Chubb comes back tomorrow and he's back to normal, and ends up with his first 4 or 5 games with 150+ yards....MAYBE Kirby makes sure that he gets the touches he needs to make a Heisman case. That would be a heck of a statement to make; first year head coach brings first Heisman in 34 years....which would also mean that UGA would be in the playoff hunt.

I'd like to see it, but I don't think it'll happen.

That's a stretch, if they had the team they did last year I could see it. They lost their QB and best WR
