The 2011 is just suffering from inner fender and radiator support cracks. The fenders are off and the guys are boxing it up. The dual batteries on that thin fender is just not a good idea. The back doors rattle a lot but we found a way to quiet them down a bit. All the welding and reenforcement is holding up great. The 2005 is a beast and only suffered a cracked windshield from a flying rock.
    Miles.

Seems like these things are junk why did you buy it?. Now on to the big three oh they are worse pieces of junk. Lets see Toyota is the only one replacing frames even though the big three frames rust just as bad. Government making the manufactures use aluminum? There is not a damn thing out there that has no problems and there never has been.

08' X-Runner , Sirius radio, fog light mod. Much more to go.
I guess I'll add or confirm some other observations that others have mentioned.

Tick tick tick ( but much faster duh )
    TOB singing right along
A/C is getting weaker but pressures are good ( wearing out the compressor ). Still works at hwy speed but even with 2 8" aux fans on the hot (entry) side in stop and go traffic, it will go low 60's on fresh air.
The manual trans could be considerably better and more durable.
Smaller nit pick but, the HVAC system,,,, I always get excessive bleed though in the off selected vents. Defroster vent I think is the worst. I typically run face vent or dash vent with the floor vent. Get big condensation in windshield.
Even with an X-Runner, the stock springs are weak. My 530 lb bike in the back causes bottom outs onto the bump tops easily.

Allow me to add as a new gripe................ Shitty interior materials that stain if you just look at it/them. Yeah, light grey fabric in a truck that may possibly be driven by an individual who does outdoor hot climate work is a brilliant friggin' idea. It doesn't clean up well and go figure,,,, I frayed out the drivers seat left seat back bolster by 45k. Black carpet at least, secondly better fabrics please. I'm not going into a leather conversation.
Just plain piss poor factory headlights. I remember the night I took it home,,, and the headlights were a big disappointment. I very quickly did the fog light mod and went to some HID's that still were shitty, but better than stock. I've got a set of 55w DDM's in there now at 5k and the cut off isn't terrible (depot lights) but the high beams are not good. Retro fit nothing at this point, not worth the effort right now.
Clutch pedal squeak came got lubed once at less than 20k miles and never came back.
Brakes, well, I've got 88K on the clock now and they are the originals! They have always felt by the pedal a little weak, but the get the job done just fine for the most part. I've always been easy on my brakes unless the unexpected arises.
Steering rack boots splitting. Need I say more? They've been weeping for a while now.

Other than those, I generally still like my truck. It's looks are somewhat contempory, it's been dependable, doesn't like 86 octane (it reminded me just the other day with a very brief symphony of pinging). It starts, it runs, it drinks fuel with appetite.
