Hey friends, Have a question about the traction control on the prerunner.

Does the traction control only modulate the brake system to prevent loss of control,
or Can it or does it also have any connection to the rear axle as in activating the limited
slip function, as in pulling a boat trailer up the ramp at a lake for an example?

This would be for 4 wd and prerunner 2 wd models. Thanks

It’s modulating the rear brakes thru the abs system on the Prerunner.

Thanks, So in other words it's keeping vehicle stops in a manner to prevent
loss of control during hard braking.

So I take it, the TC does nothing for traction moving forward under power?

During hard braking. Also on slick surfaces if the the ecu detects excessive wheel spin it will apply the rear brakes accordingly(thru the abs system.)to prevent and help with traction. It’s the auto lsd. There is not a mechanical lsd in the rear diff. From my understanding there are some models that have a mechanical lsd.

That’s the trac button on the dash.

It closes the throttle to reduce engine output.

There’s a video somewhere that’s shows how it works. It’s pretty neat. Let me see if I can find it. It a combo of using the traction control system and engine performance to limit slip.

Mine came with the tow package but I'm not sure if that included any LSD. I need to check
    what options it came with.
