I ran across this company on the internet called “Painted Auto Parts” out of Addison, Illinois (630) 458-0082. They claim they are selling new OEM Toyota Scooped hoods (Painted to your choice of color) for $412.89 out the door or plus shipping (example to Oregon $145.00). This is way below the Toyota Parts quote plus painting with a savings around $1,500.00. You would still have to buy the inside scoop parts which total about $169.85 plus install it yourself or pay someone. The only problem would be if the paint would blend into your fender colors or if one would have to have there fenders repainted. Anyhow looks good on the surface, was wondering if anyone has dealt with this company before? Thanks

**** I’ve decided to add this note after some feedback from forum members and reviewing some facts about the company.........
To err with caution, it has been brought to my attention that the BBB reviews are far from positive. I by no means endorse this company, I would encourage anyone thinking about using this company to check it out more thoroughly! It seams in life if something appears on the surface to be too good to be real, it probably is just that! A lot of Con businesses out there. Even though you have the right to inspect the product when it arrives at your residence/business and have the option to return it, who knows what hurdles you have to jump through to get your money back!

That’s super cheap! I wasn’t even considering the scooped hood until now. You sure it’s not “OEM Style”?

I’m in Oregon too, I’d be down for a group buy if it saves on freight.

Read the articles on there web site.....looks legit! OEM parts they claim....would like to hear from someone thats actually purchased this item from them for there review.*** I’ve sent them a message to verify OEM parts the same as the one I would purchase from Toyota and inquired if there would be any group discounts and there return policy!

I just got of the phone with Painted Auto Parts, they told me it is basically the same OEM hood that Toyota sells (which is not true!) but they buy there hoods from a different jobber but guarantee satisfaction. The hoods are painted per customers request. They request when the hood arrives it is inspected and if the any damage or the customer isn’t satisfied with the hood to have them refuse shipment and the shipper will return the hood with full refund or adjustment. They will not discount the hoods on volume sold but they will give an additional 10% off if paid by check or cash in advance. Usually 10-15 days for delivery. I’m pretty skeptical about something that sounds too good to be true but it looks good on the surface. You could either keep your original hood or sell it on the market for $? To regain some of the cost.

I’m planning on going ahead and pull the plug and try it. I will place an order next week. Good luck....if you order just make sure you order the right year of your truck to get the correct hood. The paint code is on the drivers door: example...C/TR:3R3

Update: I’ve decided to pass on this company due to there ratings! I would suggest anyone else to do the same unless your in the area and can physically go by and inspect there product they’re selling!
