Hey all, trying to figure this one out. I am running a stainless steel hose from my ARB twin compressor to my remote coupler mount. I am getting a leak right at the joint of the hose (See pic). This is strange because this is my second hose, the first was a knock off ARB (this one is a genuine ARB hose) and both of them are leaking from the exact same spot. My other hose (from the compressor to the manifold) is not leaking just this one from the manifold to my coupler. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Tighten it down more or get another replacement.

Is it just a tightening issue if its leaking out of the joint between the hose and the coupler?

It could be. Are you able to move it?

    Could also be the coupler?

Negative, its on their pretty tight. But that being said, I'll put some butt into it and really tighten it on their and see if i can stop the leak.

Didn't think of the coupler. I’ll tighten it first and see if that works. If it doesn't i will swap the hose around and see if it starts leaking from the manifold side.

Okay, i tightened the absolute heck outta that fitting. The leak is much much less now, albeit still there. The manual states that the compressor should hold pressure for 15 min. It passes that test. Should the system hold pressure indefinitely though? Or is a little loss through the hose normal?

    IMO, it shouldn't be leaking.

Hmm, i am at a loss. I'll try contacting ARB and see what they think. Perhaps it's the hose

If you flip the hose around, does the leak stay at the coupler or follow the fitting?

That hose assembly (HA) is more than likely PTFE tube with a SS braided cover, thus making it pretty stiff. While it may feel flexible to you, all that load is being shifted to that one hose end. The hose end has failed and will most likely continue to leak.
Is that HA in the bed away from the heat? If so, replace with a "rubber" type HA. The only need for the SS HA is at the compressor outlet, where the heat would destroy a regular "rubber" type hose.

If it is off the compressor, get a shorter SS HA, and mount it so it doesn't move,,,even if that means using rubber downstream after the heat has dissipated.

Okay, when I got back, I let the truck sit and left the compressor charged while I was gone. I flipped the compressor on, but it didn't turn on, meaning there is still adequate pressure in my system. That air was in there for a total of four hours. So even though I have a minute leak, gentlemen, in my industry, we would say, “Good enough for government work.” Thanks for all your help, guys.

Are these fittings GIC or standard NPT? Does the hose still swivel independently from the fitting once tight or is it solid? I would almost ditch that hose which as stated above is more than likely not a true ss braided line for a standard poly tube/air brake line. Then you can use push fittings that won't rust out are insanely easy to fix trail side with a few unions if need be.

It is the ARB stainless steel braided hose (Part #740203), and I believe that's a JIC fitting. It does not swivel after being installed, should it? Regarding the line you are recommending, I am unfamiliar with the different types of air hoses/fittings out there. Would that work with my coupler? I use the coupler from ARB (Part #740112) for air up/down situations, and I would love a way that is easier to repair in the field. Do you have a recommendation and link to fittings and lines that you could share with me? The line you describe sounds like the airlines I am running to my rear locker. Is this the same thing (pic below)?

6112's/5160's with Deaver stage 3, GFC camper, Evo 10S and home-built bed drawers. Solar w/100 Ah battery.
Consider replacing the fitting where the hose is attached. A good JIC connection should not leak at all, I have used dozens on machines at 2000-3000 psi. And they don't need Teflon tape or O-rings. There are some flat connections that do use O-rings, but they should have a designed in O-ring groove.
