OP, now that you got everyone up in arms. lol. Just kidding.

RCI skids like RRabbit suggested is a great idea that takes care of two issues (full protection of your underside and cat protection), but if you don't want your 3rd stolen, definitely...please.....get a cat shield.
I lived in San Clemente for some years and California (unlike what others may think) is a beautiful, healthy mindset, and safe place for the most part. But as many have said, it doesn't matter where you live anymore and especially if you live in a nice/safe area because transient crimes are crimes of opportunity.
I recall in the movie Full Metal Jacket that a recruit (pyle) gets screamed at for leaving his foot locker unlocked (right before finding the donut) and the DI says that you're giving permission for someone to steal (or something like that).
It's pretty clear from what everyone is saying on here.....1 sorry it happened.....2 get a shield of some sort.......3 crime happens everywhere

    that is all.

I went to a salvage company with my rear cats , because I did the urd delete kit . They were gonna give me $40 a peice for my two rear cats . I was like wtf , insulted. Went to parts store priced out new ones and they were almost $600 a peice . I'm not looking to get full price off mine but way more than $40 a peice . Crazy

I'm in a few similar situations. I've had my bike stolen 3 times. Before you ask, no I do not lock it up, I think that's a gimmick. I've also had my wallet stolen from my truck several times, I leave it on the dashboard for easy access. Of course I don't lock my doors. Those things don't work anyway, door locks are a gimmick. Worst of all, I've had my bank account drained and credit cards maxed every time my wallet gets stolen. I don't believe in passwords or theft protection...gimmicks.

J/K, I've never had any of those things happen to me because I understand that deterants and layers of protection actually lessen my chances of becoming an easy mark. :D

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
The RCI cats are free. With the transmission skid plate Toyota forgot to install on your truck anyway.

Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
Kinda funny that on TW you’d only think there an about 3-4 states in this country.

I put on the MillerCat shield, SS so most blades won’t cut it too quickly… and would make a crap ton of noise too.

Ok, now I’ll tap out of this thread, off to another day in the “better than yours” state

I have full steel plates under my truck from Mobtown, and live in California. It would be a little difficult to get to the cats, but I guess it would be doable if someone really wanted to.

I thought about just welding on a rebar rail of sorts on the sides, but eh.

I’m convinced North Dakota isn’t real. When’s the last time you met someone from that phantom state?

As much as I dislike the over-regulation present in NYS, I am glad they've made it much harder to sell these things, so these thefts don't happen as frequently around here. Won't stop 'em all of course, but at least it makes it a little harder.
