It's not bad im just one of those people that likes an aftermarket upgraded sound system. Its a perfect replacement for those older models that can't work with Sat radio or play MP3 cds.

The radio is wired for an Aux jack, however it is part of my wiring harness the plug has to remain in my truck. You would have to wire up your own plug. The radio does have an Aux setting though.

Does the stock radio need a kit installed to work with an amp?

I am not saying that, he was asking about an aux outlet which would be used to play music on a Ipod or similar device. I can imagine you would need an additional device to hook an amp up to this radio.
