Y2Kbaja; My p2443 code came back last night, I have appointment soon at dealership to read the code and have what ever fixed. Do you know when this code is shown does the dealer replace just the valves and the pump or just the valves? Do you know if this p2443 will at sometime change to the limp mode code of P2440 and p2442? Thanks for breaking the good news to all of us and thanks for any input to my questions!

5 parts are listed: air switch valve assy (new #25710-31022), cover installed, air pump assy, and 2 gaskets. Keep in mind YOUR VEHICLE MUST BE EXPERIENCING THE CONDITION BEFORE TOYOTA WILL DO ANY WARRANTY WORK. This is NOT a recall! The CSP refers back to the TSB which says P2440/P2442. I don't know of the technicals after that.

Well my CEL had on for about 3 years because of a code related to the Secondary Air Injection pump/system. I though it strange because I have a 4 cyl, but I had been saving up for the plug and play solution anyways. Recently my airbag light went on, and many other electrical problems starting occurring intermittently. I thought all of this was unrelated, but when I took my truck to the dealership for the airbag light, it was discovered that a rodent had been chewing on the wires in my truck (I lived in a rural area for quire some time), thus causing my myriad of electrical issues. The new wiring harness in certain areas cured my CEL! I know it doesn't really help anyone here, and for that i apologize, but I wanted to share so as to rectify any bashing of Toyota I had previously done in this thread.

What's funny is that we had 2 barn cats! But, I am wondering if the cats pushed the mice out of the barn and into my engine bay. Tech also said it could have been squirrels, and we also had a groundhog problem. So, who knows? I had found evidence of mice before (dropping and chewed up corn kernels and cob), but never thought their chewing the wires could of been a source of my problems.

You are lucky on the 2443 code as your truck is not/will not go into limp mode and is fully drivable. Those of use who have 2440 and 2442 codes, the truck immediately goes into limp mode.

Guys I can confirm Toyota is fixing this issue under warranty. I put mine in shop last week with p2442 codes, was going to cost me $2052.32 for repairs. I picked my truck up today and was informed that there was no charge, Toyota was paying for the fix so call your dealers if you have had this fixed, Toyota owes you money back.

Had my 2012 trd or 4.0 at the dealership for p2443 like I said earlier posts. The mechanic found and cleared the code said he tested system 3 times and no code came up. He opened up the air pump and found no water present. He felt that the valve must have gotten a tiny bit of water in the valve and froze enough the it was able to throw the code. He said that this happened to some Tundra's in the past when they had this happen. The service man did say I was the first Tacoma to be look at under the warranty. They did this with out charging me anything and said the warranty was good for 10 years or 150k. But I know it is only a matter of time!

Mine started out like yours and acted up when cold, 20k miles later they were done. I think where your at now is the start of the plunger seal in them going bad.

All fixed. They replaced the pump, valve and gaskets, along with a new cover for moisture resistance. Cost was $0 point 0 dollars.

Yeah my 2012 Tacoma Baja edition is on its way out I do believe, Friday my truck went into limp mode and wouldn't let me get above 50mph on the way home. It was the same issue with the Secondary air valve switch stuck open. Weird thing is that once I made it home my truck was fine but still had the codes/lights on my dash, watched some YouTube videos on it and it's a piece of cake to replace since I worked on cars for a few years in the automobile business.. I checked the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and replaced the red 50 amp fuse for the switch valves and haven't had another issue yet. The blue relay for the blower motor was good so didn't mess with it.

yeah i spent a ton of time the phone with toyota when mine went out on my '12 before i hit 50k miles and they gave me the runaround

i paid a lot of money to have this fixed when toyota should have taken care of it under warranty

Excellent. Now take the top off, remove the shitty foam internal filter, and install the uni filter.

Actually, It would be great to see if they are still using that same shitty internal filter that can be ingested.

Just got my letter in the mail today about the 10year 150k extension on Secondary Air Pump. Nice to know I have 4 more years to not worry about this possible expense.
