Does anyone know what the difference is between Primary and Secondary coverage? The bulletin states Primary coverage expires February 28th, 2019 and Secondary coverage is 10yrs or 150k miles. Is there a different monetary coverage for the two different terms?

Primary coverage is unlimited mileage until February 28th, 2019.

After that date, secondary coverage will be considered, 10 yrs since first day the truck was in service or 150 miles

Wow Toyota stepping up and fixing the issues. This is great. But the real question is whether this includes an update to the ECU so that the pumps comes on with shutdown too, otherwise the new parts will fail just like the old ones.

You received a letter for the 2440-2443 codes that are associated with the parts responsible for codes? What did it say?

Edit: Post a pic of letter if you dont mind.

I wish they would just replace the system before it goes out. I have 91,000 on the clock. Mine will probably go out with 151,000 and won’t be covered. Doesn’t say anything about a how they fix the problem though. If they just replace the parts, it still doesn’t fix the problem of the pump not running when you shut the truck off. Who knows.

I thought someone had posted that they're new part numbers, meaning they're not replacing the parts with the same faulty ones. Not sure if the new parts hold up any better though.

Hopefully. I think 13-15 model yrs. also had failures. Maybe it’s a new part altogether. Wonder if anyone’s had the service done under this csb yet??

I would love to get it done but my codes are completely random and haven’t come back in months. I’ll wait until they do and take it straight to the dealer.

image.jpg For anyone interested, this was also included in the letter. A reimbursement checklist for those who have already done the repair.

Brought my truck to the dealer with P0418 and pending 2445, they are replacing both pump and valve when the parts come in. Glad Toyota is finally doing something they should have done years ago.

You can make it go down at 145k miles by feeding water through the pump or break some blades or you worry too much.
I bought the by pass kit 6 months ago at 74k miles in case I need it immediately. I am at 85k now without a problem. Look like I will not need it for a long time

I mean the new part number is changed by 1 digit right? So is it possible they just changed it to reflect when repairs went into effect/track the ones that have been replaced? Probably the same crappy valves, but maybe the pump has a new foam filter style? No one has said if it is the same inside or not yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if the only change to the pump is to connect the cover onto it. Lol
