What repair bill? Have your codes checked for free at Autozone. If its P2443....it will be fixed for free at the dealership. Or am I missing something?

Dealership doesn't extend their program to years other than 2012. Though I'm going to try another dealership and tell them about the federal emissions warranty and hope replacement is covered.

Edit; Took my truck to the dealer two days ago, just got it back today. Dealer pulled P0418 and P0445 and came to conclusion air pump was faulty; I checked myself and I suppose it is because I can't spin the blades with my finger. Though the real issue was the valves itself.... Dealer swapped pumps to a new one, valve not replaced - pump does not operate still because valves aren't operating... So I got extorted 1200 bucks.

Damn that sucks dude. There is a bypass kit available for it but I highly doubt we could use it here in cali thanks to the c.a.r.b. bullsh... Come to think of it, there's a lot of things available for our trucks that we can't use. I think it was called hewitt tech or something.

Too late for that unfortunately. I took it upon myself to fix (clean) the valves myself. Took me 30 minutes to remove and clean the assemblies and voila, after resetting the ecu the sound of the pump can be heard on cold start and ignition off. The pump was probably shot along with sticking valves. If you were maybe a month earlier.

Driving to work today I my dash lit up with check engine light and trac off... pulled the p2443 code....
Looks like it's my turn to read this entire thread...

Just curious...this is a plug n play and will make the ecu think all is well... i still am required to take emissions, basically they plug into obd-ii, no inpsection...throwing around the idea of just going this route....

Check with Toyota, they did a recall on these a couple years ago. I was able to secure a refund from Toyota for the money I spent on a new switch

I just got the system replaced at 148000 miles under recall letter. I DID NOT have the CODE yet. If it is under 150000 miles, you are good for a free one.

I had mine replaced a couple years ago under the service campaign. Has anyone who's had theirs replaced had the issue reoccur?

Does the recall cover 2013 and above, or just 2012 and below. I know there were some changes made for the 2013 model year, but not sure exactly what.

Not sure but the recall letter said certain models in 12. I believe ones do not have pump cover. They replaced valves and pump w/ cover.

I was just thinking about this the other day.

I am 1 month away from it being 5 years (3/17/2017) since mine was replaced at 38K mileage. I have about 72K now and no issues. I remember getting some supplementary recall bulletin stating it was under warranty till 150,000.

Yep, it happened on my old 2012 Tacoma. I believe it kept me in limp mode while the code was on. Seems like so long ago considering im on truck #4 since then...

p2443 Did not put the truck in limp mode, this code is for the bank 2 switch valve stuck closed. From what I have read, limp mode will happen if it is stuck open.

Been 2 days since the lights went off.

I know I'm chiming in late here but I have had a whole s&#t load of problems with mine. 1st time it was the switching valves that deteriorated. Changed them at only 33k. Second time one of the cheap aftermarket valves shorted out at just under 60k. Then just last year I received a notice from the dmv informing me that I could not renew my tags until I supplied a certified recall certificate or something. I had to go to the local stealership and leave my truck with them (which I am not a fan of). Eight hours later it looks like they replaced the pump and switching valves again. Trucks got 88k currently and no problems...yet. I hope they refreshed the ecu or whatever but not holding my breath. I love my damn truck but thier secondary air injection system leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That is for certain 2012 and lower tacos only as far as I know. I am just bitter because toyota didn't lift a finger to help me years back but now they recognize it as thier problem and I didn't even keep the receipts. Plus as I remember, they were VERY particular about any sort of reimbursement unless you follow specific instructions on where, when and who you take it to for these repairs. Good luck.

    **Update**
Since light went off I never ended up taking the truck to the dealer, however, 3 months later my truck went into limp mode as I was leaving the neighborhood to go to work. Limp mode was pretty scary, it happened right when I turned on to a main road where the speed limit is 45mh.... the gas pedal went to the floor and the truck barely accelerated to 20ish mph....When the original trouble code appeared I did the research, cancelled the dealer appt and ended up purchasing the Hewitt-Tech kit, but never installed it because the light was off the next day. After the truck went into limp mode, I installed the Hewitt kit, it has been a month and all seems well. The install was pretty simple. I removed the pump because it was easier to install the block off plates with it out of the way.

QUOTE="Large, post: 12403753, member: 63268"]I've only found 2012 trucks with this issue. I'll look at my build date later.[/QUOTE]
Well mine's a 2010 four-banger and I just got the code 1316 and this is what it's telling me. This is bullshit I just spent $3,600 fixing my truck after I hit a deer and I was looking through the codes and replacing 02 sensors and maf sensor.
Even after I replaced maf the mad code stays. O2 codes went away tho and this is the dealer explanation You're all right this is total fucking bullshit! I wouldn't even a fucking hassle getting it fixed from the deer if it was going to be known that this was going to happen! This sucks! At least mine can get up a little faster than that sometimes I can hit 60 mph sometimes I can't do 40 depends on if I'm going uphill or downhill or what but it does take me a good quarter to half a mile to get up any speed enough to get on a freeway. In It will not go over 3000rpm... it'll shift. (Automatic trans) Going uphill it won't shift cuz it's uphill and I'm fucked! I work 25 miles away and it sucks driving it! Lately I've been able to average 50 or 60 MPH going there but then on the way home I can't get over 40 miles an hour! And on the way there is more uphill than on the way home...yes it's uphill both ways LOL! I thought that was an old grampa BS tale lol...but yeah between San Antonio and New Braunfels on I35 it's uphill both ways! Good thing it's not snowing!!! Lol. This fucking sucks ass!!!

Hopefully dad will help cuz he did when I hit the deer... I haven't seen the end of this thread... 800 to more comments to go! If someone has the answer, please in LMK before I have to read 800 more comments! Lol. Thanks y'all!
