How do I go about getting a kit for my 2012? I have already repaired this once and would love to just bypass it and put the future failure behind me. Thanks

I want to put a second Northstar battery where that stupid pump is. There's gotta be a way to make the truck think the pump is still in when it's not there.

Kits for 4Cyl and 2012 V6 are $48. The kits require you to cut 1 wire. But no soldering or special tools/skills required.
The 2012 V6 I will also offer in a "no-wire cut" needed format where you just clip in a wiring harness. Those can begin shipping later this week. Those are $65.
Payment through paypal: jeffcole75 at gmail dot com Just leave me a note as to what you want and make sure to include your address! Instructions are included.
Still need a 2013+ guinea pig......I know you're out there:)

My '13 is still working fine so I can't help but once the kit is confirmed to work without issue, I'll be in.

Do it. If I had to do another one it would take 10 minutes to install. Less than and hour from prep to finish for your first time - probably more like 30 min, including celebratory beer.

Im new to the the secondary air injection problems. I have a 2012 4.0 Tacoma. Mine is currently working but would like to have a plan to avoid future problems. What is the difference between the slyfox75 system and the Hewitt-tech solution? Should I just wait to it fails?

Spend $50, install the slyfox kit in 30 min and the system stops running, so it will never fail.

From a price prospective you'll save a bunch of money by installing the Slyfox75 kit. I have had zero issues at this point, my truck is running great , install it and forget about it.

I bought mine a week or two ago, just waiting for it to arrive. I'm in Canada so it takes a lot longer to ship. I'm also apparently the first person to get the 2012 "no cut" harness. Once I get it in I will post a review.

Do not wait until it fails. I think the difference is about $150. Hewitt is more expensive. They both do the same thing - the pump will not activate, period. The pump will not activate, therefore no part of the system will fail. It's a simple, beautiful preventive measure.

If you wait until a failure occurs, you'll be doing a lot more. As everybody on Tundra and 4Runners forums have stated for many years and now here, INSTALL THE BYPASS!

Hey guys....to answer question on Hewitt vs mine. Hewitt is in business.....has fancier product, pretty website, etc etc. I have a day job and started doing these kits to help fellow 4Runner guys who were needing a bypass but on the cheap. That was ~4 years ago. Since then, I've helped quite a few Tundra, Sequoia and GX folks along the way. Eventually I started getting hits from some Taco folks on here so here I am. Hewitt is great stuff....perfect for people that have zero DIY blood in them. Snaps in and your done. My kit requires you to cut 1 wire....takes about 15 mins to install but requires no special skills or tools.($48 shipped) The Taco V6's use a Denso MAF.....I have sourced a wiring harness that will allow those vehicles to not have to cut a wire.($65 shipped). The V6's can also do the original "wire cut" kit as well, your choice.
I'm being told the 2013+ model V6s run the pump again when the truck shuts off. I'm not sure a work around for this and frankly dont have the time to pursue it. If anyone knows details of the newer systems (or link) I'd look into a way to get those to work as well. But i haven't scoured through Toyota service manuals to find how the newer systems work in order to defeat it. The current kit would work for bypassing the system on start.....but not on "engine off".

Will do. Better to spend a little money now than a shitload later, on a BS system.
