today when i started up my truck i heard a chirp/squeeling sound coming from the outside of the truck. i only heard it in neutral with the clutch out. as soon as you press in the clutch it went away. if you hit the gas pedal with the clutch out the chirp got faster. when driving you could barely hear it (except for when the clutch was pressed between gears).

either way, i was driving it to the dealership for its 25k service so i had them check it out. they told me my secondary air injection valve is clogged with dirt. they said it was from offroading, i couldnt argue with them i was at rausch creek all weekend. they said i need to clean it out ( i wasnt going to pay them to do it).

what is it, what does it do, and where is it

I should also say that the CEL was intermittent. I'd get the CEL, then reset it with my scanguage. It wouldn't come back for a few weeks. A couple of oil analysis i had done around the same time showed a high level of silicon in the oil indicating an air leak somewhere. Took me a while to put 2 and 2 together.

There are instructions for how to take it off and test it in the service manual. Mine tested okay but the valve was full of carbon. I pulled mine and cleaned it with carb cleaner and deep creep. Seemed to clear up the problem. No CEL's since then and my last oil analysis came back clean.
